The park boasts of a 38,000 sq ft state-of-the-art bioincubator facility, which has been set up in a ten-storey building housing an ultramodern genome sequencer, DNA sequencer and other instruments.

IT companies to pay water tax - Sector V Stakeholders Association & NDITA Decide On.10 Per Sq Ft

The water tax dispute in Sector V has finally been resolved.After a meeting between Sector V Stakeholders Association and Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) on Wednesday,most IT companies are more or less convinced about the terms and conditions of starting to pay water tax at the rate of Rs 10 per square feet of the total built-up area they occupy,excluding the green open space.
Association vice-president Kalyan Kar said that it was a fruitful meeting.The rate of paying water tax has been fixed as Rs 10 per square feet of the total built up area,but the open space on company premises will be left out while computing the tax.Thus,the tax will be much lower than what was earlier thought, he said.Representatives from more than a hundred companies and officials from JUSCO and Enkon were also present at the meeting.The IT companies are free to clarify any point if they want on the issue.
The bills will be paid yearly in four installments the first will be 40% of the bill and the remaining installments will be in the order of 25%,20% and 15% of the bill.It has been decided that companies paying their first installment by May 31 this year will be given the opportunity to pay the next installment by June 2012, Kar said.No more underground water will be used as the supply will come from JUSCO.
It was also decided in the meeting that touchscreen information kiosks would be installed at four key spots for the convenience of people visiting Sector V.The touchscreen kiosks will be installed at Technopolis junction,College More,SDF Building More and Bowlers Den junction.People can now get information on directions to reach a particular spot in the IT hub.The kiosks,to be set up using GIS,will also have information on the nearest fire brigade and police station, said Kar.
Apart from these,other issues discussed were the hawkers problem,traffic and transport management at spots like College More and Nayapatti and the beautification project.
The Enkon-Selvel consortium also gave a presentation on the beautification project carried out in Sector V.

Nice, finally something solid is coming up on the "jinxed" land in Sector V. For some reason 9 lakh sqft looks small given that they have paid 50 crore for buying the land

yes. I wish they could break the 30 floors barrier and have one tower instead of two but 24 is still not bad. It may well end up being the tallest or the second tallest ( after Videocon IT park ?) .
