Stock Exchange Tower | City of London | 100m | 26 fl

Ho ho I just saw a big crane sticking out of the top of the old London stock exchange building... I cant imagine it is for cleaning windows!

indeed, Im a bit nervous about this one.. it looks a bit basingstokey from the pics.. a demolish and rebuild would have been the safe option, oh well

The Stock Exchange is the grey/brown concrete midrise in front of Tower 42 in this photo:







... and it's getting a shiny new reclad like this:






The actual operations of the Stock Exchange were recently moved to Paternoster Square though.

I've lived in Hampshire in the past. It's all good!

It's funny I've not seen any official renderings of the building close up, unless you count will's one but that's a bit small.

Claddings looks nice, but the shape is still crap.

Hope they put something old fashioned or at least sympathetic in the corner between those two neo-classical buildings.

The first tower crane was put up last weekend using a 500t mobile crane:
