Supposedly a vote in Belmont council to decide on Belmont or Redcliffe as the station name.

Looking at roughly 9km Morley to Perth.

Just looking at google now. It's hard to see where stations would go (even on the proposed alignment). Both sides of Tonkin Hwy built out with r20 spaghetti suburbia.

Beaufort st alignment. ECU Mt Lawley ect would be a future spur off the line and end up in Wanneroo via Mirabooka (old Max alignment).

All lines with the exception of Armadale would be through lines.

Mandurah-Yanchep
Fremantle-Midland
Daglish-Airport
Ellenbrook-Cockburn via Thornie and
Wanneroo-Curtin.

Oh yeah, straight up Beaufort St. How easy is it to add a spur to an underground line though? Also not convinced about joining it up to the existing network.

If the are asking the public what to call the airport west station, they should probably ask them what to call the airport east station. What would you call the shopping centre near the station - Forrestfield No.2? There's already a Forrestfield shopping centre several kms to the east. There's enough space between High Wycombe and Forrestfield for another suburb. Perhaps Kalamunda council should consider creating a new suburb in between.

also landmarks (EQ, canning bridge), buildings (perth stadium), roads (kent street etc) and people of prominence (mciver) have stations named after them too.

Yeah, but South Perth is a safe State and Federal Liberal seat. There's no votes in it. Duh.

Why was Karnup chosen first? It's in McGowan's neck of the woods, but was it also flagged by the last government? I don't really mind, the more the merrier, I like Midland line with its frequent stops, it makes the rail more functional for more people, at the expense of not that much time. It's more just whether the prioritisation is valid.

If they're asking the public, someone will say Trainy McStationface no doubt.

Shouldn't be too difficult to splice tunnels. It's done in other places in the world.

If any line is to be successful, it needs to be integrated in to existing network.

Splice off from the Mandurah line head straight north under Williams Street to Edith Cowan then under Walter Rd to Morley. The Airport line could cross this line right under the Galleria.

Not likely to see any Morley-Ellenbrook line go via Beaufort given it's proximity to the midland line.

Id have a station at Lake and Aberdeen Street, Walcott and Field Street, ECU, Central and Walter Rd West, Russell Road in Morley, Tonkin and Morley Drive.

My 2c on the how the Morley segment could work. I would have it as a through service with Armadale setup roughly like this:

Station - Rough Location

Noranda - (Benara Rd / Tonkin Hwy)
Tunnel Start - (Tonkin Hwy / South of Morley Drive)
Morley - (Walter Rd W / Morley Galleria)
ECU Mt Lawley - (Central Ave / ECU Mt Lawley)
North Perth - (Fitzgerald St / Angove St)
Northbridge - (Russell Square)
Perth - (Barrack St)
Concert Hall - (Adelaide Tce / Victoria Ave)
Riverside - (Adelaide Tce / Plain St)
Causeway - (Victoria Park Bus Transfer Stn)
Tunnel End - (South of Victoria Park Stn)
Oats Street - (Continues as Armadale Line)

Then from Noranda you can go where ever the pork barrel takes you!

I like your route but I might be even more ambitious I would like to dream of a tunnel extending down Albany highway till Kent street (East Vic Park Station) then heading to Curtin University could even one day extend right down to hit the Thornlie/Cockburn line at Canning Vale
