three zones : free zone - enterprise zone - time zone , all of them near each other i think .

The Enterprise Zone is an industrial development consisting of gold refineries, jewellery workshops and worker accommodations for core DMCC Gold division members. Office spaces are intended only to serve the workshops and refineries.

DMCCA shall provide the necessary infrastructure works for the Enterprise Zone, which shall include the following:

Roadway design and construction and access to plot.Service corridors for utilities. Property developers shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary NOCs and permits for connection to services from the relevant authorities and DMCCA.
District Cooling. Chilled water will NOT be available for this development.
Site drainage works.
Enterprise Zone 1:
Is the zone located adjacent to the Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) Development.

Enterprise Zone 2:
Is the zone located adjacent to the Jewellery and Gemplex (J & G).

free zone :
DMCC’s 200-hectare purpose-built development is situated in the heart of ‘new’ Dubai on the Sheikh Zayed Highway and is surrounded by Dubai’s newest projects including The Palm Island, Dubai Internet City and the Dubai Marina. Strategically located in close proximity to the major port of Jebel Ali and in easy reach of Dubai International Airport, the Centre lies between the fifth and sixth interchange on Sheikh Zayed road.

The centre will house three commercial towers to represent DMCC’s core segments:

Almas Tower
AU Tower
Ag Tower
Along with the three main towers, the centre will house several refineries and a Jewellery and Gemplex catering to the needs of precious metal and gemstone jewellery manufacture.

Removed from there also. The rumored new location is very close to JLT but we'll see where it will really end up and when it might finally get build.

DMCCA unveils new business park near JLT Dubai: The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority (DMCCA) today unveiled the master plan for a new business park in Dubai.

Covering an area of 13.8 hectares, and located adjacent to the Jumeirah Lakes Towers, the newly launched business park will be a premium commercial development featuring office and hotel towers and commercial buildings.

The development will enjoy free-zone status, and feature a 34-storey office tower, and a 28-storey business hotel. These two towers will be served by a common podium that will feature a ballroom, conference centre and retail gallery. Eleven low-rise office buildings will surround the two towers. The office space offered in these buildings will be a mix of freehold and leasehold properties, and will be ideal for both large corporate headquarters as well as for smaller companies.

RSP Architects, a premier architectural firm from Singapore, has completed the concept design for the development. Jones Lang LaSalle, the world’s leading real estate services and money management firm, is conducting the market and financial assessment of the business hotel, as well as identifying and negotiating operating agreements with preferred hotel operators.

Ahmed bin Sulayem, executive chairman, DMCC, said: “DMCCA plans to develop this business park as a dynamic community that is built to the highest international standards and provides the ideal environment for businesses to establish themselves in one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. As we look to bring this project to fruition, we are especially pleased to partner with leading names in the global real estate business.”

He also highlighted that the development being strategically located in close vicinity to international airports in Dubai and Jebel Ali will be an added advantage for businesses.

Bryan Wilson, executive director, property, DMCC, said: “DMCCA’s regional experience, the project’s prime location, and the global real estate expertise of our international partners make the DMCC Hotel and Business Park one of the most exciting projects in Dubai. By contributing to the infrastructure development of the emirate, this project will also help meet the needs of businesses based in the emirate – or intending to open offices here. In this way, the project will contribute to the long-term growth and development of Dubai and the wider region.”

This area layout looks so perfect for a buttressed supertall that I'm wondering whether they will keep us guessing as to the location of Al Burj and just start creating piling foundations on this pattern that will suddenly become the tallest in the world?? Would be a great spot to declare the centre of new Dubai?

DMCC adopts new model for business park plan

Staff Report
Published: May 10, 2008, 23:37

Dubai: The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) on Saturday announced that it has adopted a Project Partnering Contract (PPC) model for its forthcoming DMCC Business Park development in Dubai.

The project consultants for the DMCC Business Park include Norr Group Consultants International as the lead designer/architect, K Home International as the client representative, Hanscomb Consultants as the consultant and Al Futtaim Carillion as the constructor.

All consultants signed a partnering agreement with DMCC yesterday to form a core group that will work together for better management of the project.

The PPC model is a team-based approach where the client, project manager, constructor and consultants sign a single partnering contract, instead of individual agree-ments being signed by each party with the client.

Core group

All partners are brought on board at an early stage and form a core group that works closely together to alleviate design scope gap and safety issues and enables better management of the project supply chain and logistics.

All partners have an obligation to the core group, which enables them to work together to reduce risk and price, and focus on creating a quality product at lowest possible cost.

name change pls....

DMCC introduces Dubai’s first Project Partnering Contract

* Signs single partnering agreement with architect, client representative, cost consultant and constructor

* PPC to boost co-operation amongst partners on DMCC Business Park

* Initiative to ensure timely delivery of real estate projects

In line with international best practice in the construction industry, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) today announced that it has adopted a Project Partnering Contract (PPC) model for its forthcoming DMCC Business Park development in Dubai. The project consultants for the DMCC Business Park include Norr Group Consultants International Ltd. as the lead designer/architect, K Home International Ltd. as the client representative, Hanscomb Consultants Inc. as the consultant and Al Futtaim Carillion LLC as the constructor. All the consultants signed a partnering agreement with DMCC today, to form a core group that will work together for better management of the project.

The PPC model is a team-based approach where the client, project manager, constructor and consultants sign a single partnering contract, instead of individual agreements being signed by each party with the client.

The PPC format is a first-of-its kind initiative in Dubai and looks to eliminate some of the key challenges faced by developers in collaborating separately with several individual contractors. It will also ensure timely project delivery, better quality of construction, elimination of supply bottlenecks and the establishment of a structured development model.

“For DMCC and the real estate industry in the Middle East, the introduction of the PPC model represents a significant step forward,” said Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC. “This format ensures a structured development plan by addressing the challenges associated with a multi-party contract. There is a clear understanding of the delivery timelines and shared areas of responsibility between the different project partners.”

“As a dynamic community that will be built to the highest international standards, DMCC Business Park will further the quality of construction with this initiative, setting a precedent for developers in the emirate. DMCC is pleased to be partnering with K Home International Ltd., Norr Group Consultants International Ltd., Hanscomb Consultants Inc. and Al-Futtaim Carillion LLC on this very exciting project,” he added.

DMCC Business Park is a 13.8 hectare development, located adjacent to the Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The business park will be a premium commercial development featuring office and hotel towers and commercial buildings. The development will enjoy free-zone status, and feature a 34-storey office tower and a 34-storey business hotel together with a number of office buildings ranging in height from 7 to 15 storeys.

Bryan Wilson, Executive Director, Property, DMCC, said: “Operating in a globally competitive environment, the real estate industry has been facing procurement issues and rising prices, leading to delay in deliveries. The PPC format addresses the challenges arising from large-scale multi-contractor developments by mapping the way a partnering team works. A PPC model aligns contractual project management processes with teamwork methods, offering a single contractual hub and allowing all contractors/partners to contract as a team on identical terms.

There is sufficient awareness of the construction requirements and ample build-up time to meet them. By ensuring a holistic development model, this project will boost investor confidence and meet the needs of businesses based in the emirate and those intending to open offices here.”

Rezidor announces two new hotels in Dubai

XPRESS

The Rezidor Hotel Group will strengthen its UAE property portfolio with the launch of two new hotels in the DMCC Business Park - a 13.8 hectare free zone authority offering 50-year guaranteed tax holiday, 100 per cent business ownership, and a secure regulated environment.

The dual Rezidor property, which will open in Q3 2011, will encompass the 150 room Radisson DMCC Business Park Hotel Dubai and a second yet unbranded 300 room hotel in a 32 storey complex located at the centre of the development.

“Dubai is the economic heart of the United Arab Emirates and a very important market for us. These two new contracts bring our portfolio in the emirate to 10 properties in operation and under development – among them are the award winning Radisson SAS Dubai Deira Creek and Radisson SAS Dubai Media City,” said Kurt Ritter, President and CEO of Rezidor.

Being developed in conjunction with DMCC - the Dubai Government’s strategic initiative to establish a commodity market place in the emirate - the two hotels will play an important role in meeting the development’s demand for high-end, short-stay business accommodation solutions.

“DMCC Business Park has been launched to meet the needs of the growing business community in Dubai, and will be a mixed used development. The double-branded hotel tower will prove to be of great value in catering to the varied interests of all our members and the Business Park. We are pleased to tie up with the Rezidor Group which brings its special expertise to this project,” said Bryan Wilson, Executive Director of Property at DMCC.

The Radisson DMCC Business Park Hotel, Dubai will boast three restaurants, a bar and restaurant, a lobby area with an executive lounge, a ballroom, meeting rooms and fitness facilities as well as ample parking space. The second hotel will comprise a restaurant, lobby lounge, meetings rooms, fitness facilities and further restaurants which will be shared with the adjoining Radisson property.

“These hotels will play an important role in strengthening the Rezidor brand both here in the UAE and in the wider Middle East markets. Our partnership with DMCC, and their decision to appoint us to manage their properties, is a testament to our strengthening reputation here in the emirate,” said Jean-Marc Busato, Area Vice President of Rezidor.

With the announcement of the upcoming Regent Emirates Pearl, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Rezidor is well on track to have a presence in each of the seven emirates in the next five years. Two Radisson projects are coming up in Fujeirah and Ras Al Khaimah and another three are being developed for Dubai, including the dual DMCC properties. Currently Rezidor has two city hotels and one residence in Dubai which are complemented by a beach resort in the adjoining emirate of Sharjah.

The group currently has 17 hotels either being operated or under development across the Middle East, representing 4,300 rooms
