Forts restoration taken up in Gulbarga

Restoration activities have been taken up in the historic forts at Malkhed, the erstwhile capital of the Rashtrakutas, and the Yadgir Fort at a cost of Rs. 90 lakh and Rs. 4.07 crore respectively.

In a written reply to Congress MLC Allamprabhu Patil , Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree said that while the restoration work of the fort at Malkhed was nearing completion, the restoration work at the Yadgir fort was in progress. The government had already released a sum of Rs. 2 crore for the restoration works taken up by the Tourism Department at Yadgir Fort.

She said that more funds were required for the total restoration of the Yadgir Fort and it would be taken up as per the availability of funds in the department.

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister H.K. Patil said that measures have been initiated for direct recruitment of the Grade one and Grade two secretaries to fill up the vacant posts in gram panchayats.
