The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has required all commercial and private operations in the Lumbia Airport (Cagayan de Oro) to transfer to the new Laguindingan Airport, starting April 30, 2013.
CAAP is currently in the process of commissioning runway lights. In the meantime, given Laguindingan International Airport’s (LIA) sunrise / sunset limitations, flights can only operate during the day.

Because of this, flight changes including cancellations will be implemented:

Cancelled flights (effective April 30, 2013 until further notice)





CEB has already begun contacting and re-accommodating more than 22,500 passengers affected by above flight cancellations and flight schedule changes. It is also sending out emails to more than 53,000 guests regarding the airport change in Cagayan de Oro. Passenger figures are from April 30 to July 31, 2013 only.

Guests may also call our reservations hotline (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888 for details on their re-accommodation. Options of affected guests include rebooking or rerouting for travel within 30 days with no penalties, full travel fund or full refund.

We hope for our passengers’ understanding as we work to minimize inconvenience brought about by the transfer to LIA.

Govt opens P435-M bidding on airport equipment supply

The Aquino administration is bidding out the supply contract for P434.5 million worth airport equipment for night landing operations in eight airports across the country.

The supply contract covers communications equipment, meteorological instruments and power supply systems.

The Department of Transportation and Communications and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines noted the need for such an upgrade in the airports' night landing capabilities, citing the robust state of the economy.

“This situation shows positive growth in the country’s economy; however congestion of arriving and departing aircraft in Manila’s premier airport is a dilemma of the air transport sector and needs to be addressed by the DOTC and CAAP,” the government noted in an invitation to bidders.

Air transportation is fast becoming one of the major modes of transportation in the country where many airports now have increased flight frequencies, according to the department and the aviation authority.

Covered by the upgrade are the airports in Butuan, Cotabato, Dumaguete, Tuguegarao, Dipolog, Roxas, Ozamis, and Busuanga. — VS, GMA News

This month marks a milestone sa ato airport kay every M-W-F-Su, naa tay 4 airbus flights. Hoping for more growth to come and the comeback of PAL Express for Cebu flight.

Nag-ask ko sa isa ka official sa CAAP Dipolog, ingon siya nga plan kuno sa PAL Express mogamit og dako nga aircraft (A330) for Dipolog instead of additional frequencies pero mauna ang Dumaguete gamitan nila og dako nga plane this October. I don't know kung reliable ba siya to think na ang A330 di kasigo sa DGT og dako rapud kaayo sa Dipolog unless kung A321 pero wa may A321 moabot karon nga year sa PAL.

walang ka alam-alam yung official na yun..wishful thinking. paano kakasya ang A330 sa dipolog at sa dumaguete. runway pa lang di kasya and maiksi para sa A330. Naalala ko sa PAL nung papunta ako CGY, ang sabi EQV (alam ko naman yun either A320 or A319) so maari A330 gamitin papunta CGY. Pagalis ko tumawa ako..

Hahaha... In respect of him nalang kasi medyo matagal na rin siya sa CAAP. But may logic siyang sinabi sa akin na lahat ng mga proposal for runway expansion at extension ay request ng airline mga operator. Sila yung pumupokol sa CAAP na ibigay niyo to sa amin bago kami mag-operate diyan at hindi yung wish ng mga gov't officials na extend namin to para gumamit kayo ng malaking planes.
