I told ya it's beautiful!

And it's 23 stories tall (in addition to several parking floors). In fact they, coz there're two. Now, are they the tallest residential towers in Karachi? Can someone please confirm that?

yuppers! I jumped when I saw the ad this morning. Great towers, bad area though, the surroundings suck. Maybe this project will also plan or ask the CDGK for some uplift around the area.

hope bad area starts improving just out of sheer embarrassment of being in close proximity with all this nice stuff! You see, if we start developing all the good stuff outside the city, the city will fall prey to urban decay, not that the city shouldn't expand. There should be recycling within the city.

I am totally in support of that buddy. Thats why I want them to ask the CDGK to bring about some uplift in the area.

@ the area improving itself out of sheer embarrassment. That would be great too.

Not a bad area for long. The stretch beyond the point where the road from BBQ Tonight meets it would develop quickly and soon and would in about 5-10 years be an extremely posh area. So it's bad only for hte time being. Mind you, this road will exclusively connect Defense/Clifton with Karachi Waterfront and Manora. Expect the prices here to go up severalfolds in the nearby future if they haven't already.

The 'CDGK' is such a tongue twister - they should call it City of Karachi. Anyways, CDGK is not in control of Clifton, the Clifton Cantonment Board is.

People don't realize that the CDGK and the mayor of Karachi control only 34% of the land area of Karachi. The rest is controlled by a myriad of government authorities and corporations. Here's a few:

- DHA
- Clifton Cantonment Board
- Various other cantonments
- KPT
- PQA
- Railways
- Etc.

Despite this people still expect the CDGK to fix everything. This is one of the issues that the mayor is trying to solve - somehow to get the federal govt. to give more control to the CDGK. A single command authority for the whole of Karachi. But it is far from certain that he’ll succeed as there are so many organizations that would resist.

Coming back to Clifton. It used to be the poshest area of Karachi but recently became rundown, like the rest of Karachi. But now thankfully it is coming back and should be better in the future.

The clifton cantonment board is the shittiest body ever constituted for urban services. No wonder clifton has become a dump. I hope the nazim succeeds in his mission of unifying the control strcture in Karachi. Would certainly help the city loads.

it might be good if clifton comes under the cdgk, but wouldnt it be too much pressure and too much work on the mayor if all of the bodies come under cdgk?

im sure they would want to mess things up just to claim the mayor isnt doing anything for them .. something like that!

I went to their office today, got the brochure.

There are 23 residential floors, 3 parking + 1 underground parking, NO commercial activity there.

two apartments per floor, one facing the sea, the other toward the back. Both are priced the same.

top 10 floors = 23 million or 21 million.
rest 13 = 21 million or 20 million.

I just forgot the rates, it's either 23&21 or 21&20, though I think it's the former.

Why are appartments in Karachi so expensive? I don't see the logic, honestly.
