The buildings stands some years now but still we have nothing in the world between 700-800m. Not even under construction
Nr. 2 in the world is nearly 200m smaller

Indeed, just several proposed projects and one on hold.

Still under construction, still only 260-ish meters tall, and it won't be seven-hundred-and-something meters tall when it's finished. That's the "height gap" Tom_Green pointed out. There are several 600+ meter proposals out there, some of which are under construction. Some have proposed something 800+ meters too, although I haven't seen any status updates on any of those in a long time. For now, Burj Khalifa is the only tower in the 800-900 meter tier. But it seems like the seven-hundreds are skipped completely. Or in the case of Zhognan Tower and India Tower, abandoned for the foreseeable future.

There was stuff going on at the sites of Zhognan Centre and India Tower as well. I'll remain skeptical until construction at least rises above ground.

Then again, there's even less activity in the 800-900 meter tier, apart from the fact that one building has been completed.

They've started installing the fireworks (or is it some big lights?) on the Burj. You can see it on some instagram photos:

It took me a while to warm up to it. The height has been always astounding, but its beauty isn't apparent until seeing so many pictures of it. I'll be seeing this next year and I can't wait!

That's weird... Jumping to page 1604 on this thread crashes the forum for me.
