So the walkway over the water means the gap between the inlet & eastern kiosk is bigger than it first looked.

No its not an extension of the promenade, it leads down to a lower level yet to be installed that provides access to the boat pens.

The gap remains far too small, most will need to deviate around the back of the kiosk.
