Bistro 61 Opens...
![]() Hospitality Development Company (HDC), a subsidiary of United Development Company (UDC), has opened its latest restaurant, Bistro 61. Located one floor up from the lobby of the Alfardan Towers, the opening of the restaurant-café becomes the latest addition to a growing portfolio of top-tier food and beverage outlets that HDC is bringing to Doha, an official said. “Bistro 61 is airy and cheery during the day – giving the impression that you are dining in a sun-dappled arboretum. And then, after dark, the office lights of all the nearby buildings lend a rather more romantic atmosphere,” the official said. Open daily (barring Friday) from 7.30am until midnight, the new restaurant boasts of an extensive menu that includes starters like salads and soups as well as traditional favourites smoked salmon. Main courses include beef, chicken, lamb and fish. There’s also a selection of pizzas as well as an extensive range of dessert pastries, plus coffee, teas and freshly squeezed fruit drinks. The restaurant also offers several set business lunches, ranging from QR30 to QR90. HDC specialises in owning, developing and operating world-class hospitality projects with many of HDC’s brands entering the Middle East market for the first time, at The Pearl-Qatar. These include internationally-celebrated Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Lebanese restaurants. |

done! yes it was called Shakespeare but upon opening they renamed it Bistro 61...dunno why. Good food although nothing extraordinary, they have an international menu, interior design is a mix of modern and middle-age/renaissance Europe, kind of unexpected Good addition to West Bay though as they are not many restaurants there outside of City Center. I guess this is more aimed at people working in towers around than at people looking for a proper restaurant getaway...anyway good to have it at last! ps: went for lunch but passed by in the evening, looks like they have great lighting themes at night!
