Smart City is planning to invite tenders during May itself and will start construction on 1st July. Environmental clearance they are expecting by 1st week of June, which means they have already submitted all docs for clearance.

I assume the idea will be like having 2 or 3 buildings in the processing zone about 1 - 1.5 lakh sqft each and rest 5-6 small buildings (30k - 40k sqft each) in the non-processing zone comprising MLCP, food court and other amenities.

Actually whats the use of 1.5 lakh bldg? You have several office spaces across Kakkanad, having the same..... Definitely its indeed snail....

This is a Tech park comprising of number of buildings and not a ALL IN ONE campus building like Technopolis. In that case 1.5 lakh sqft building is not at all small, considering the existing facilities in InfoPark, Kochi.

Thapasya - 1.25 lakh sqft
Vismaya - 2.38 lakh sqft
Leela Ph-1 - 1.27 lakh sqft
Leela Ph-3 - 1.62 lakh sqft

Too much of pessimism around here. Let them start with 5 laks sq ft , fill them and move on to the next. They have spend money to international consultants to draw the master plan, and the design is based on the inputs of lots of professionals, so lets believe them. Meanwhile before completion of phase 1 ( after 6 months) they are planning to start building the next phase which is going to be big and iconic. We have all waited so long and now they r about to start. Don't kill the spirit by crying like a cry babies. Be positive...it's on the move

Can't blame anyone if they are pessimistic. Indeed the project has seen downs more than ups.

Now, we should not continue to show our desperation for any delays and be happy with whatever progress the project makes.

As far as TECOM is concerned, it is their Rs 100 Crore with the Govt. of Kerala since 2007 that has reaped no fruit till now. It is their interest to start the project at the earliest.
