Heat vs. Lakers is the media's holy grail. A game 7 of that would easily be the most watched NBA event in history.

I've been reading some of the knicks message boards. They have to have the most delusional fans ever.

Not a bad day. Heat finish off (or should I say "extinguish") the Knicks and the Marlins cap an 8-1 road trip with a win tonight. Even Heath Bell pitched a good inning!
(and you know you're a fan when you're following a 4-hour ballgame on your damn computer)

12 more.
Go Heat! Nice road trip. Could possibly have been 9-0 if not for the error yesterday, but not going to be greedy. The 8-1 trip was just what they needed at that time.

One thing I gotta admit. If it wasn't for the Heat I don't know if I'd be watching much of the NBA playoffs at all. Hockey playoffs just kick the NBA's butt (for me, anyway).
That said, I won't be missing a minute of the Heat's run! |

I can't follow the puck!
It moves too fast for me. It was the same when Marino rifled one of his passes. Sometimes, I couldn't tell if he had released ball. That was before HDTV though. ![]()

When I was a kid, we didn't have an NBA franchise to root for, so the Sixers were my 'default' team. This was back in the Dr. J and 'Chocolate Thunder' days when they just oozed personality---and won a shitload of games. If the Sixers somehow are able to get past this next round and play the Heat, I'll be rooting for a Miami sweep. Hometown trumps everything. But it's nice to see Philly back on the NBA map after a decade in the wilderness.

That game was scary close for longer than I expected, but what a second half by James and Wade.
Hopefully Bosh returns soon. The Heat needs him to be there after this round. Oh, and what a win by the Marlins today, too. Walk-off grand slam. That said, they HAVE to sit Heath Bell down. He's just been ludicrously awful so far. |

Did anyone that went to the game today stop by the Volvo Ocean Racing Village next door?
It was great to see so many sailors from around the world taking a break to support the Heat, and amazing that most of the crew were still in the village repairing the boats for the next leg to Lisbon, this around the world sailing thing is no joke! |

Marlins win was nice after Heath Bell almost blew it again. Stanton absolutely crushes the ball. Did you guys see the line drive he hit the other day that got to the outfield wall? It was a laser and one of the hardest hit balls I've ever seen, if not the hardest. The new ballpark has already had 5 walkoff victories! ![]()

On Saturday May 19th, they have the In-Port Race. The six ocean racers will race around a short course off the coast of South Beach. They compete for points (not as many as an ocean leg) but the standings are very tight and every point will count as they leave Miami for Lisbon on Sunday. Saturday will be a great day at the Volvo Ocean Racing Village, get out their and support them to make Miami look good. It would be excellent to have them come back in 4 years from now. |
