Why are they here so early? little too keen dont you think, it is still 15 days till the tournament and add 2 or 3 before their first game. Do they have any friendlies organised?

haha I guess so. Checked FIFA turns out they do indeed have friendlies organised both in Roodeport against Denmark and the US

First in, best dressed. Denmark can't be far away, we play them in a friendly in a couple of days. New Zealand as well, because they played us in Australia and were heading straight over from there as well.

Cool thread! Annoys me seeing Craig Moore getting off that bus though, hopefully he'll be turning away and coming home soon though.

Many time zones travelled = bad jetlag, therefore more time needed to aclimatise.

Huh?

Nope they arrived at OR Tambo. And it certainly wasn't under the radar. Their plane was branded with "Brazil", was escorted in by 2 fighter jets and despite their police escort, their bus got stuck in traffic between the airport and JHB.

As far as I understand, maybe I'm wrong, arrivals are airport are separated from normal arrivals in some way.

Are teams using CTIA or the private airport?

I would imagine that the bus assigned to them will be used on short term hops like from JHB to Rustenburg or Polokwane, but am sure that they would fly to Cape Town, PE, Durban. I'm only guessing though

That would be it.
Supporters could actually buy seats and travel with the team
The team have come early to get altitude training as well as get over the jetlag.9 European teams and a host of others are in Europe at altitude but we had the farewell match 3 days ago in Melbourne so it didn't make any sense to get off to Europe as indeed New Zealand have done

I'm hoping this isn't the only thing we win btw

ACSA has constructed a special FIFA terminal at OR Tambo to provide special processing facilities and extra security for arriving teams and FIFA delegates. Public viewing is extremely restricted or not possible at all.

I'm sure something similar will be done at CTIA and KSIA.
