Pelaburan terkumpul sehingga September 2017 Pulau Pinang di kedudukan kedua tertinggi , FDI No.1 – KM

GEORGE TOWN - RM9.91 bilion pelaburan terkumpul Pulau Pinang dalam tempoh bulan Januari hingga September tahun ini pada kedudukan nombor dua paling tinggi, di belakang Sarawak yang berjumlah RM10.52 bilion.

Memetik laporan statistik terbaru Lembaga Pembangunan Pelaburan Malaysia (MIDA), Ketua Menteri Y.A.B. Tuan Lim Guan Eng berkata, angka RM9.91 bilion itu adalah lebih sekali ganda berbanding RM4.3 bilion pelaburan terkumpul yang direkodkan sepanjang tempuh 12 bulan tahun 2016.

"Terima kasih kepada MIDA atas usaha yang mereka lakukan dan juga kepada rakyat Pulau Pinang yang turut sama-sama menyumbang ke arah (perkembangan) pelaburan tahun ini.

"(Dan) selain modal insan yang bermahiran tinggi, penyediaan infrastruktur yang efisien dan tadbir urus yang baik turut menjadi penyumbang terhadap percambahan pelaburan di negeri ini," katanya pada sidang media di Komtar tengah hari tadi.

Tambah Guan Eng, RM8.03 bilion pelaburan asing langsung (FDI) ke Pulau Pinang di kedudukan paling tinggi berbanding semua negeri lain, termasuk Sarawak.

“Laporan statistik MIDA mendedahkan, pelaburan terkumpul ke Sarawak berjumlah RM10,518,444,919; diikuti Pulau Pinang (RM9,913,766,407), Johor (RM3,718,610,173), Melaka (RM3,211,212,620), Selangor (RM3,049,396,790), Kedah (RM1,289,945,993), Negeri Sembilan (RM896,908,928), Perak (RM871,733,763), Sabah (RM641,063,401), Perlis (RM525,000,000), Pahang (RM191,395,184), Terengganu (RM73,123,716), Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (RM57,540,408) dan terakhir Kelantan (RM4,200,000). Tiada rekod untuk Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan,'' jelasnya.

Menurut sumber sama, Guan Eng memberitahu, 90 projek daripada keseluruhan 464 projek yang telahpun diluluskan adalah di Pulau Pinang, dengan RM1,882,310,557 jumlah terkumpul pelaburan domestik ke negeri ini selain FDI berjumlah RM8,031,455,850.

“Pulau Pinang mendahului dengan jumlah pelaburan asing berjumlah RM8.03 bilion berbanding Sarawak (RM351,489,945).

“Manakala, pelaburan domestik Sarawak mencatatkan jumlah RM10.2 bilion dan Pulau Pinang (RM1.9 bilion)," ujarnya yang juga Ahli Parlimen Bagan merangkap Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Air Putih.

Pada 27 Jun lalu, Guan Eng mengumumkan laporan statistik MIDA mengenai RM1.346 bilion pelaburan terkumpul ke Pulau Pinang dalam tempoh bulan Januari hinggga Mac 2017 (Q1 2017) adalah di kedudukan ketiga paling tinggi, di belakang Sabah (RM1.697 bilion) dan Sarawak (RM1.655 bilion.

Toray has big plans in Penang

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng received the visit of Masahiko Kawamura, who's managing director of Toray Group (Malaysia) and Toray Group corporate affairs director Hun Keng Kuan at his office today.

During their meeting which lasted almost an hour, Kawamura conveyed Toray's investment plans in the state as well as his vision for the growth of the company in Penang, whose people's values and work ethics he's most confident and comfortable with.

Also present was investPenang CEO Datuk Loo Lee Lian who's tasked by Lim to provide whatever assistance needed by Kawamura.

Kawamura also voiced his concern over the Nov 4 & 5 floods in Penang and gave a contribution to the flood relief fund.

IMHO there shouldn't be 'rivalry' involved at all but only 'complementing' each other & the rest of other cities - as ALL of us are in the same country but different regions/states/geographical features !!!

Penang International Commercial City, an upcoming RM10bil mixed development by Hunza Properties Bhd. in Bayan Baru. It is strategically located along Jalan Tun Dr. Awang, just a stone’s throws way from sPICE.

This development will be built in three phases and planned for completion by 2026. The first phase is expected to commence work in mid-2017, expected to have a gross development value of RM5bil. It comprises a shopping mall, medical centre, a BPO tower, a hotel, and 1,792 units of serviced apartments and apartments.

The first phase is scheduled for completion in 2021. The second and third phases would see the development of more apartments, a hotel and a college. The project is located on a 43.36 acre land. It will have a gross floor area of 9.4 million sq ft.

ps wondering whether the existing infrastructure (esp. the roads, drains, etc...) can cope with it maah ???
