Yeah rm55b for single track, people will go berserk . The public display is still on till June (the one in kl sentral still open?). Someone should ask the staff there.

As more traffic develops the second track added with loops abolished except at stations. Kinda justified, but the cost will really anger a lot of people, especially if they know that it's just single tracked.
Budget constrains and piling National Debts are much more serious matter so it has to go for single tracks rather than double track.

But I ask on SPAD office they say it will be double tracked.
Ok not sure who is right or wrong
Probably, need to ask MRL instead

My take is that it'll be double-tracked 'eventually' (God knows when that will be) hehehe ???

Less than 2 millions??
Huh. KT has 600k. Kuantan has 800k. KB has 800k. These three cities alone have more than 2 millions. Not to mention, big towns like Chukai, Dungun, Besut, Temerloh.....There will be at least 3 million along that route. Seriously, this is another example of double standard.

I always notice that airasia sells seats to KB for about rm29 and upwards for a one hour flight. And the frequency is quite high if u add malindo mas firefly. Would you take the possibly more expensive train journey to kb that's going to take at least 4 hours?

I'll be more concerned especially when it comes to holidays, freight services obviously won't stop, but passenger services will need to increase even futher, which will make a single track a no-go. It is worth noting that the east coast jams like crazy, especially in the northern part of the east coast, when it comes to holidays. To make matters suprisingly mysterious though is the fact that a massive amount of people has their kampung over there, and they stayed in KV so i believe 600k+ population does not count these people, that's why (kinda) objecting single tracks if it's still possible to go for double tracks, not complaining about costs.

This project will be done, whether it's single-track or double-track, as the Gomen has decided so - whether it be 'successful/sustainable' or not, let's leave that to the so-called 'experts' Gomen advisors hehehe !!!

Maybe ecrl will have no effect on flight but it will have an impact on bus services in the east coast as the journey from KB to KL is still up to 7 hours....even when CSR is fully completed in 2027 still it will take at least 6 hours from KB to KL....why not fork out a little money say RM80 to enjoy faster journey time than current bus service of RM50 iinm for a journey up to 8 hours...same applied to bus services between KB to KT and KB to kuantan

But the price can easily go up above rm100 during festive season.

More options going to East coast..maybe bas tidak akan effect kot.. segelintir org suka lebih naik bas dr train n plane..but sometimes someone don't want to take bus.. because lama loh..but it is healthy competition..sebab bukan semua route rail lalu ada yg x lalu so maybe org akan naik bas

If ECRL can take me going to KB from KL and vv I would gladly take it over AK flights because:
  • AK may offer free flights, but even those are still subject to taxes and surcharges, especially the accursed credit card surcharge.
  • Getting to KLIA means I have to take Uber or ERL, whereas in theory I could take LRT to Gombak and take ECRL. A bit of time and cost advantages could be offset to get to and from KLIA.

Ultimately it still depends on other factors that are yet to be known, including pricing and scheduling. Highly doubtful many would take this up if it's too expensive so hopefully it's a bit more reasonable.
