I've not been much of a world traveller as yet.

I've seen this in Milan. The Pirelli building.

I think there are one or two in Barcelona and I've seen Canary Wharf from the train.

That always reminds me of Alpha Tower Birmingham

A few shots form the top of Empire State last month (19th Sept). I had 4 days staying with a work colleague who lives on W 51st street - fantastic place.

Stig282 - I believe I worked with you for a year or so at the Georgian Tearooms with the Poppa's! Small world hey, glad to hear you're well! Were you Cindarella's or Rapunzel's Prince old bean? Je suis le Mysterious Man!

Looking down towards Bryant Park and 42nd Street

Looking north towards the GE building (30 Rock) and Central Park

Mid and Downtown Manhattan from the ESB

Same view avec yours truely. Twas a cracking day, and then did the Circle Line cruise for 3 hrs. Whoo, tis a fine fine city. Here's hoping for job opportunities

I have had the chance to see some of the best. Have photos, but cannot upload (business restrictions); I have been to Kuala Lumpur, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Sydney and La Defense in Paris (very impressive). In two weeks I am in Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taipei so should be able to see a few more there. I have to say of all these cities, Boston is the best to visit.

My limited life experience becomes all too apparent.
What i want to know is, what's Tower House doing in the middle of NYC? (left of centre)

Although I have no pictures (this was before digicams, you know you young whippersnappers!) I did have a beer in the 110th(?) floor bar of the North (or was it the South) tower of the erstwhile twins in NYC. The buildings themselves although spectacularly humungous, cut a rather ordinary streetscape when approaching down Wall St. And the view from god-knows-how-high is not that great cos it wasn't a crystal blue sky NY day. Ho hum.

Also, the Empire State was closed due to fog.

Personally, the Eiffel Tower provides the most inspiring vistas - 360 degrees of magic!

You know, even for young people, digicams have only come in in the last few years lol... When I went to Dubai few people had them, and that was only 1999...
The Empire State was closed due to fog. How silly... Americans like to close things whenever an oppurtunity comes don't they...

Closer to home, Emley Moor is also very tall and stands proud on the hillside for everyone to see for miles around

Quite sensible I thought LN1 - this was back in 1997, so no 9/11 effect, just that the officials said there would be absolutley no point as you could see fuck all. Well, he didn't quite say that, but I got his drift.

Yes there would be no point but people would still wanna go up... so thats a bit weird. And just so you know, I dont swear Which doesnt mean you dont have to, but I just thought you might of said that so it sounded 'cool' for me lol.
You'd think people would wanna make as much money as possible by letting people go up the Empire State Building whether its foggy or not. They don't close the London Eye when its foggy though... If you think about it, anyone with a brain would not go up when its foggy, but wait til the fog clears... 1/2 of it was prolly smog- when I used to live in London you could sometimes see the smog during the summer on a hot day...

arrrh, tis a shame I've no scanner - have a full suite images of tall buildings from Chicago, San Fran, Toronto, Boston, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

Heading back to Bangkok and KL for a couple of weeks in December, so will get a couple digis of the Petronas Towers etc.
