It seemed like this one took forever to get off of the drawing boards and out of the ground but once it did it shot up like a weed!

Wow -- the historic City Hall looks beautiful. Did they just do some type of massive exterior cleaning or something? I remember it looking all dark and dirty (ten years ago). Now it looks beautiful.

What a big story. They did a $70 million renovation a few years ago that rebuilt the clock tower top and totally cleaned the exterior only to have pieces of terra cotta start cracking and falling. So now they are going through the lawsuit process on the contractor and have to redo a substantial bit of it.

It is nice, though.

I have to say I am underwhelmed by the Moderne. That doesn't look a thing like what I expected from the drawings. It's almost like there's no point getting excited for projects based on the presentation because almost nothing ever looks as good in the end.

Thanks. I'm from out of town (Indy) - and don't get up to Milwaukee all that often. I remember when I was last there the stone / brick was very dark. Looks much nicer now -- but too bad about the Terra Cotta. Hope they get everything worked out and get everything stabilized soon (and get all of the legal issues worked out as well).
