I was talking about sites 7 and 8 specifically, the Chevron site.

For sites 5 and 6, nothing is locked in yet, so theoretically McGowan could preserve it should they win government in March, if any ink doesn't dry first.

I sure hope they take advantage of that prime car park site and build something incredible.

I can't figure out what's going on with the intersection of William Street and The Esplanade/Mounts Bay Road in that old aerial shot... Why is it so complicated?

The small circular road there is/was a bus terminus.

Also at that carpark.... I am guessing that everyone who worked in the city parked there cars in it and walked to work.

I am guessing once there were multi level parking houses or underground parking stations that car park finally got levelled? Reminds me of those photos of the capital city in Texas with all those open air car parks.

I am glad that prime car park 'got lost'. sorry bad joke for the, "lost perth" reference.

Yes I can see that circular road is for buses, but there are clear signs of separated roads that look like exits or entry roads coming off the main road on three other sides of that intersection. It looks like the bus loop and the main east west road has by passes around it...

I see undertaking (overtaking on the right) use to be illegal. Why on earth did they chance it.

That book is gold. Great find. Amazing that back in the days the book practically taught people to drive on the freeways...

Maybe it was safer? No it doesn't say it is illegal..

Lane Discipline. Note #14. Always keep left, except when over taking...

Overtaking. Note #18. Only over take on the right.... It says do not overtake from the left, as that is for slower vehicles...

Also maybe they are refering to the emergency lane?

Um when i was last in Perth, i saw some idiots using the emergency lane for over taking whilst the traffic was not exactly at grid lock but still moving slow, like 50kms / hr instead of 100, some in a hurry would overtake illegally using the emergency lanes... In Joondalup i saw one 4wd even mount the footpath to get around peak hour traffic on Joondalup Drive.
