My apologies.

On the HMR, the entire station structure has been built just below the viaduct right? So this is one of them I suppose?

Yes. It is the cantilever support structure on which the station will come up.

Decks cleared for Metro Rail at Old Gandhi Hospital
All decks have been cleared for the Metro Rail works near the Old Gandhi Hospital. Commercial Taxes minister Srinivas Yadav along with HMR MD NVS Reddy inspected the Metro Rail works on Thursday. Two major pending issues were solved on Thursday during an inspection.

The Hyderabad Metro Rail would be building a Sainik Aram Ghar, a resting place-cum-logistic movement centre in the 1.65 acre mortuary land that was recently handed over to the HMR. On the request of the minister, HMR agreed to spare 35 square yards around a neem tree for Samba Murthy Nagar Basti residents. Residents have been requesting the authorities not to chop the tree as they have been offering prayers to Naga Devata and other deities.

The Old Gandhi Hospital area will be developed as a major transport hub. The Secunderabad West Metro station of corridor-II will be connected to the Secunderabad Railway Station with a skywalk for a length of about 200 mtrs and will provide landing facility to all the platforms of railway station.

Similarly another skywalk will be built on the road in front of the railway station for a length of about one kilometre and it will be connected to Secunderabad East Metro station of corridor-III which is coming up between Lekha Bhavan and Oliphenta Bridge. Secunderabad East Metro station will also be connected to the main Railway station through a skywalk with landing on all the platforms.

The bus stops which are scattered around the railway station would be integrated in the Old Gandhi Hospital area and a world class transport hub will be developed by HMR for inter-modal connectivity between the two Metro Rail stations, MMTS, Secunderabad Railway station and TSRTC bus services.

HMR and L&TMRHL officials later visited the Boiguda and Kacheguda areas and inspected the progress of corridor-II Metro Rail works. Sanction for BT and Cement Concrete (CC) road works in several stretches of the road between Musheerabad and Kacheguda which got damaged due to the overflowing sewer lines was accorded.

Perfect! HMRL is showing the way. I like the concept of a transport hub.

HMRL under NVSR is doing very good job. This model would be followed all over India when completed. All the credit to NVSR. He kept going despite setbacks (Satyam) and naysayers (Shreedharan).

Other side of the Metro story

Other side of the Metro story
HMR officials have drawn flak for demolishing many buildings, but they have been giving a fresh lease of life to several government buildings...

Properties demolished to make way for metro rail or heritage structures that came ‘under threat’ due to the overhead viaduct and so on led to several protests and criticism. While this is one side of the story, metro rail authorities have also been onto something ‘constructive’.

They have been and are giving a fresh lease of life to several government buildings, including primary schools, revenue offices, police stations, barracks, etc., in the last couple of years. In the place of the dilapidated, crumbling and cramped edifices – new swanky buildings with modern amenities have come up and will come up in future as well. While some old buildings had to be removed as they were too close to the metro rail viaduct or the overhead stations, a few volunteered to surrender the land on being assured of new structures. Revenue Division Office in Nampally was the first beneficiary, and much to the envy of other government officials, the new building got ready last year and had begun to function from then. The second RDO office in the remaking is at Secunderabad. “Across the 73-km metro rail corridors in three lines, we have had quite a few government buildings and when we made an offer to construct them afresh, some departments accepted our proposal,” explains Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) managing director N.V.S. Reddy.

Construction of four police barracks has been taken up behind Shahinayatgunj police station complex at a cost of Rs. 8.64 crore and yet another barrack is under construction at City College, opposite Ghansibazar, at a cost of Rs. 7.92 crore. Both these buildings and another one at Rasoolpura are five-storied ones. Gopalapuram police station too is brand new.

A ‘Sanik Aramgarh’ is being built on the old Gandhi Hospital land, another four-storied building for the benefit of the armed forces personnel with an easy access to Secunderabad railway station, explain metro rail officials. Besides, at least eight government schools at Chaderghat and Kukatpally got new buildings. While the first school complex has 40,000 sq.ft. built up space (Rs. 5.5 crore), the second one at Kukatpally has 25,125 sq.ft space (Rs. 4 crore) – four floors each. “Both these schools were in a bad shape earlier and we demolished the old buildings because of road widening,” said a senior metro rail engineer.

A novel commercial complex is also ready for opening at Putlibowli. It has two cellars and seven floors and a ‘replica of Sultan Bazaar vertically’, as an official put it.

Hyd Metro to acquire Cyber Towers land

http://www.eenadu.net/district/inner...o=hyd-zonal#31

Quote:
Hyd Metro to acquire Cyber Towers land
Road expansion required for Hyd Metro to reach RaiDurg
Hyd Metro was to go to Shilparamam per original route but alignment is changed
Shilparamam soil is soft - not fit for building a metro station there
new alignment increase distance by 1.5 km and needs 1 extra station
(so, its gonna be HITEC CITY - Raheja Mindspace/ Inorbit Mall Road - RaiDurg ...)
notification for alignment change will follow soon ...
has anyone noticed markings (for acquisition) on Cyber Towers compound wall yet ?
