I support CHAN here bro,Nyayo and Kasarani have the worst playing surfaces on planet earth, let me not talk of machakos, kinoru, eldoret etc..

South Africans hope for minor Nyayo repairs

Did you check the dates of your articles? And if we are talking about playing pitch how long does it take to get it in order?

Dhuks nothing has changed in those stadia, just the tracks..I watch Kenyan football at times, those fields are pathetic, ball bouncing like a rugby ball. The fields cant even allow a good tiki taka.Read the below 2017 articles then.

There are true floodlights in the main stadium.

Kasarani is looking superb .Back in the days of 4th All Africa Games this stadium cost us Ksh 450m to put up with exchange rate of about $1 = Kshs 28(if my historical rates are correct)

How come we haven't put up two more of the same standards over the last 20- 30yrs?

You don't really need that many athletics stadiums in country. I think Club stadiums, both football and rugby, are the way to go. We dont really have a rich spectator culture as of yet so this would have to be built up to ensure demand.

Yani ni nafasi kubwa ya kujitangaza kwa watalii tunapoteza hapa. The tourism bodies are sleeping. I mean we should be seeing their advertisements everywhere.

Yes, IAAF will only allow its own licensed brands to advertising in its events. After the event Safaricom can repaint the stadium in its brand colours and get back its naming rights.

Hopefully we'll start seeing them using this stadium more like for concerts, exhibitions, National celebrations etc.

And Nyayo stadium they should have it fully rebuilt with a roof and they get rid of the Tartan track and make it into full fledge football stadium with just the grass which in turn can host cricket matches, baseball games, Rugby games etc.

Giving Nairobi two stadiums that can be used for different purposes instead of two athletic stadiums where Kasarani is neglected.

Aiii wewe ,even a scaled down version of Nyayo stadium especially in Eldoret ,where the cream of our athletes come from , and another in Nakuru should have been done.
Its really shameful that foreign sportsmen troop to Eldoret/Iten to train with our folks and find out how they do it and all I ever see are dirt tracks as the training grounds .
