ALTO unveiled at the MIPIM

Both the cladding & urban integration look really promising...

The building permit application was submitted early 2013 & a public inquiry is to take place this year as well.

The demolition of the current building -Les Saisons- is hoped for september 2014, the tower's completion being expected late 2017 (if no ostacle intervenes).

Though, some nimby fearing a loss of a couple hours of sunshine per day are already likely to appeal against the project...

I like the overlapping panels. Reminds me of what we could have had with the Pinnacle had it not been dumbed down and then cancelled. The shape itself is very cool.

I like it when cities start to develop their own architectural style. In the case of La Défense with the Hermitage and this one, if the trend continues, the characteristic could be the top broader than the base.

Alto will increase even more the density of the area.
The densest concentration of skyscrapers in Europe

Never the less, I like the current iteration of Alto too, though I would have preferred Phare Jr.
That came to my mind as well. Lovely design though.
