I spoke to the developer, MED, for an update on this. They have received clearance from the lands department in January. They are finalising their constructor and expect to start construction in July. Build period of 18 months (constructor working 3 shifts a day) with another few months to finish - so the developer said.

I don't know what is happening with MED. They apparently have all the permissions they need to start. There is still talk from them of offering alternative financing options(i.e. delayed payment plans) to the 50% developer finance - although they say they may still be able to do the finance. MED has already had construction loans approved - I was shown the paper from the bank to say the loan has been granted. They have very little excuse for not starting. Contractually - for every month that they delay, MED will pay the owners interest for any delays (providing they were not caused by other parties i.e. Lands dept). I bet they will try to get out of this but contractually owners will have money due back to them as I have seen the NOC and title deeds for the land given to MED a few months back.

Public Announcement No. 1 "The Petition"
Dear All,
We have drafted a petition to be submitted to the relevant UAE authorities. The Petition is now online and available at The CAIG's blog. If any of you, are interested to be aware of the content, the authorities that we are going to send the petition to, and wishes to sign it, please send us an email to infinitlicht@yahoo.com It is understandable that you might be busy with too many different things at this year ending. But this is one of the important steps we need to take. We will be holding on to the petition till the end of December 2011 and plan to submit it to the UAE authorities beginning 2012. We have tracked down the related governmental and private authorities and organizations and will contact them one by one. If you want to be included in the petition please act now. FYI, if we do not receive proper responses from the authorities or if IMG still wasn't willing to refund our investments after all amicably; we will commence trying our other alternatives. The other alternatives are being discussed at the CoA Investors Group's blog. IMG should know that after this juncture and if we set our feet on this road; things are going to happen very fast and an ominous storm is expected on their business sky. We are not going to BACK DOWN! They simply and from the beginning should had expected that we were not going to just sit and let them take our life savings!, even if we had to write to the entire world. For your more information, in order to inform as many investors as possible, we have opened/completed similar accounts: https://www.facebook.com/public/CityofArabia-Investors https://twitter.com/cityofarabia City of Arabia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Updated with correct information) SkyscraperCity - Powered by vBulletin[/URL] PS: There are several other global online communities, in which we are not going to take your time with now, but definitely they will be our next stations. At the time being, we are seeking advices of several major Medias in the UK, US and Dubai to see how we can draw media attentions to our problems. On the other hand, the group representative has been contacted by a very famous online news agency for a possible interview some time in Jan. 2012. They want to hear our story and to publish it worldwide. Before that interview to be held, we would like to strengthen the group by having you added in and joined up. We are now many; with your presences will be a larger, stronger, louder and more effective group. Trust that together, we can have our rights back. We look forward to welcoming you to the home of CoA Investors. On behalf of The CAIG http://cityofarabia.blogspot.com/ |
