the delay is something they don't need.. But I can't see how they can block this. As someone mentioned before, they seem to basing this on the fact they are moving out of the area, rather than basing it on the fact that they may cause a problem moving into an area. They may try on the grounds that the building can't handle 9,000 students (is this the full uni or just Perry Barr... Hmmmmmmmm) but I don't see how it can't. Personally I think this could just be an unnecessary delay, and a costly one too for all parties involved..

I assume these people are just extremely slow on the uptake? The new campus has been planned for many years (and presumably would have been completed by now if not for the change of site caused by HS2).

Surely intelligent people would have objected when the new campus was first mooted, rather than waiting until the plan had been part implemented?

I hate this type of 'after the horse has bolted' last ditch efforts (like Argos on Grand Central).

I hope and prey they loose and that they do it quickly. I like the wholesale market idea, much better than yet another soulless housing development.

Amazed at how many people use the word "loose" when they mean "lose".

I see it all over the internet.

Loose is used as in "Loose fitting trousers"

Lose is used as in "Lose a football match".

Well yeh, I can understand if it looked like a sneaky innocuous looking application but BCU have been making a song and dance about this for at least two years and no one really batted an eyelid. The local MP certainly didn't get off his lazy backside to do something about it...

Fantastic news, after the first phase I think this one is going to be even better. And the more people we get down here then the more chance we have of Curzon Street and the Woodman reopening.

The first phase alone looks amazing coming in on the train, can't wait for this one to go up!

Do we presume that the legal challenge against the planning consent failed?

either that or it was just a half arsed whinge at nothing.. The sooner Perry Barr Campus moves down here the better IMO. Personal safety up there, even in late evening is a bit of a concern. If anything, I reckon this'll help stoke interest in the area. But I still want to see a TechCityUK development around here to rival MediaCityUK.

I just think we sometimes put all our eggs in one basket. It would have been great to see the Perry Barr campus re-developed.

Perhaps turn this area into a LEZ. I'm sure a logistics company would find the land useful...................................

The area needs investment, there is land around there now which could be used for the purpose of logistics but it's never come forward. Some imagination is needed and one would be to build the bloody library they knocked down.

Maybe an area for blocks of apart-hotels for visiting athletes for Alexander Stadium?

Thank goodness they've injected some colour in that building. Millenium Point is overwhelmingly grey and the BCU first building is bland with a capital B. This'll actually look okay at the end of the "park".
