Also, if they DON'T count the roof height, Durst may [I]finally[I] get the message...

As stated below, this is the lower observation floor as you can see the edge of the top observation floor in the top right corner. Its the row of windows that is being started on the exterior shot earlier on the page above the mechanical floors.

Aren't there 3 observation floors? I see one and a mezzanine...

Edit: never mind, in that photo it only shows the lowest level and the mezz...not the top observation floor 102 I see now...

Anyone know if other WTC buildings are being built and what height each one will be in addition? I know at first they were going to make like 4 tall ones, but now it seems just the main 1 WTC standing out in the skyline. Also, would love to see pictures of the WTC from 40 or 50 miles out. Someone said you can see it right now from the Robert Moses Bridge on LI...has that been confirmed, and is that with the naked eye or with visual aid?

There will still be 4 buildings just a matter of when the other two go up is the question. Hopefully a tenant is signed soon for 3 because then at least all that will be missing is 2 for a while and Im ok with that I think tower 3 will really fill the gap between this and 4...it's so irratating!

There are five new WTC towers. Seven wtc is finished ( 229m ), One WTC ( 417m/541m ) and Four WTC ( 298m ) are topped out and Two WTC ( 412m ) and Three WTC ( 357m ) are on-hold.

2WTC would essentially make it like the old towers no? 2 huge buildings next to each other, 1 slightly taller than the other? I haven't seen plans for this...any links? And when you say on hold do you mean they are just waiting to build it or they may not even go through with it?

Both 2 and 3 WTC need tenants for construction to continue. Tower 3 is currently being capped at the 7th floor for retail space.

This render is quite old since changes were made for 1-3 WTC

What if 2 and 3 never got tenants? Won't they get built?

I'm just wondering, what is the purpose of the tarps over the building anyways?

However the antenna/spire does bother me. Wish it was the original design but understand that it would be impossible to maintain. I just hope what is going up is not the final look and Hopefully they can come up with something to add on the spire/antenna asthetics wise.
I hope to God you're right about 2 supertalls, I just wished they went with 2 and got tenants before 3, because in my opinion WTC2 now that is the cream of the crop, I love that design, whereas 3 is cool with it's 4 spires and all, I just love 2, and I'm 40 I hope I live to see it built...

PMadFlyer, you seem like a knowledgeable source do you think you could answer my question #42589 pg 2130, about the window track system and how it works, or anybody at that matter, it just seems with the perimeter of the track itself, smaller than the perimeter of the 4 corners, HOW DOES SOMETHING LIKE THAT WORK?????
