Oil Rig Berthed at kuantan port:

3 oil rig platforms have berthed at kuantan port for maintenance and restoration work. these rigs belong to transocean, an offshore drilling contractor.

local folks, if you r curious on how an oil rig looks exactly in real size, grab the chance to see it as close as you can. im not sure how long it ll be there. the tallest rig mast is about 25-storey high. thats tall and already made an impact to the port skyline.

No need to think about this so much. A big town/place like Penang also do not officially have city status instead the smaller town than Kuantan like Miri, KT and Alor Star already got city status. It's more about politics.

Yeah I realise that...but, declaration of city status is sure a big thing in any city in Malaysia...

As for Georgetown, that city is actually absorbed into a one island administrative organisation, Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP). Although, through history Georgetown really is a city...(see TYW's signature)

Really? How come I never heard that news? Or have I been shut out by my oh-so-lazy-to-read-news-lately...

Actually its good, a special local authority should be setup to give special attention to Georgetown, its Penang state capital...

Barakah desak MPK batal Pesta Pantai Balok

KUANTAN 22 Feb. - Badan Gerak Dakwah Pahang (Barakah) mendesak Majlis Perbandaran Kuantan (MPK) membatalkan penganjuran Pesta Pantai Balok yang diadakan bersamaan dengan tarikh Maulidur Rasul pada Jumaat ini.

Penolong Setiausaha Barakah, Mohd.
