This road has some badly maintained sections (proper مطبّات) but hey; it's dualled and it's fast.

Strangely,*there was no 'old road' along the coast. This is the 'new' road. I went along it a couple of years ago; it's mostly better than these photos but is full of potholes and every time you go up a bridge there is a serious bump. The contractors did a bad job.

It's not about the contractors, it's all about the budget being spent by the government.

Ask anyone in the business and they'll tell you the money gets stolen along the way. Standards are too low in the first place; I never understood why they never include pedestrian bridges. I guess they didn't respect people's lives.
