#Completed: Meriton Broadbeach-31st/95m & 24st/75m

Meriton have lodged a DA application with GCCC consisting of 2 towers- 23storeys and 30storeys with a connecting bridge. I thought it was going to be 40storeys but it was scaled down.
Ill have to get diagrams or a render soon. please be patient.
cheers

is it necessary for such a short building to have a connecting bridge? obviously its practical for much higher towers, but this would just look silly.

^ Buildings go up to 30 storeys with Air on BB being the stand-out. So these babies will slot into the skyline nicely without making any impact really.

yeah the Broadbeach area is full of dif height zones. there is a 40storey zone and 30storey. So Meritons towers are in the 30st zone. I have no idea about how bridge works atm.
They wont be that short. probably 80-100m high.

I found out site were toweres are going. Block bounded by GC HWY/Elizabeth Ave & Surf parade. The tallest will be 95m and shorter 70m. The bridge will be 60m above grd!!
Its across from Jupiters casino!
see the tall pines next to Grand Mecure Hotel with monorail track.
thats the site! (Its known as PEGASUS SITE)

Yes I think he is talking about the block directly in front of where broadbeach on the park is now in that photo. There are actually a handful of towers on the block nowdays.

^ correct. it will be north of Broadbeach on park. sorry old pic.
i had a look at a roof plan and there basically square towers facing Elizabeth ave. There very robitic looking with heavy cornice at roof. Bob nation is architect so they will be no doubt be brilliant facade elements ect. no renders as yet. soon as approved they will feature on Meritons web site.Atm its called pegasus site.

I thought that was a public park. Pitty. Especially for the people living in B'b on the Park.

i dont think the site is a public park. that would be against planning laws. obviously its the site next to the park.

Nope not next to the park, on the direct opposite side of broadbeach on the park to the park (which is next to the park), so to the south of broadbeach on the park.

EDIT: ^lol...

Culwulla what kind of bridge is it accross to the casino? Open pedestrian just for people living/staying in the planned complex, or public?

I think you're a little confused. The bridge will go between the buildings, not across the road to the casino.

i spoke with model maker today who made the models for Meriton. he said it looks awesome. The towers face GCHwy and the bridge runs south/north about 1/3 way up.
