Horizons: A City for Tomorrow
Horizons: A city planned in the mid-20th century by a successful entrepreneur, along with a complex that included a theme park and several other entertainment venues. Unfortunately, the visionary passed away before the project could be completed, and only the theme park opened on time. Over the years, the project's financial and creative sources waned until Horizons finally fell by the wayside. Decades later, with the company the visionary founded having extreme success in the theme park ad film businesses, the heads of the company decided to brush the dust off of the Horizons project and build the city. The name Horizons symbolized growth and prosperity. They started off with a few small buildings, with many more on the drawing board. Plans for expansion included several "supertall" skyscrapers of more than 300 meters. It also included plans for future hotels which met the top-notch standards of their theme park hotels. Using experience from designing theme parks, the city layout called for the city to be centered around a city green and a World Trade Center, which serves as a central "hub". The retail center of the city is in "the grid" section of the city, where most of the city's shopping venues are. Across the Amer River is most of the residential towers and high-density housing complexes. The entire city is on the drawing board, being planned week by week. Their vision ended up in an amazing plan for an amazing city.
At the moment there is not a big version of the city map that the buildings can be placed on; therefore, the paper models are on "platforms". The paper models are conceptual and therefore and not perfectly made, please bear with it for now.
