Indeed but IMHO the Vélodrome has no chance to host it.

Not yet, it remains one more single truss and two other double-sized trusses to be lifted.

It will look brilliant in the end. Should be ready for the next season, right?

This is becoming a mighty stadium. I still remember Bergkamp's goal against Argentina in '98. This match was also in this stadium, lets hope that we can play in 2016 also in this stadium

About the rumours for hosting the final of 2016 in Marseille: That aint gonna happen. Paris is the capital and although the Stade de France is officially located in St. Denis we are just talking about Paris.

I saw the match France - Netherlands last week and the Dutch reporters mentioned also how magnificent the Stade de France is. It is bigger then this stadium also. The only negative aspect about the Stade de France is that the stands are a bit more far away from the pitch.

SDF is really a beautiful arena, and if it wasn't for Paris bureaucracy it should be where PSG regularly play too.

The fact that PSG doesn't play at SDF is not connected to Parisian bureaucracy at all. The club could/will play games there in the next few years however SDF will never be the home of PSG for historical reason and economical ones. Bureaucracy doesn't play much into it even though the mayor said stuff about it. Just so you know SDF would love having the PSG playing a few games there now and then.

Back on topic when this stadium is finished it better become a monster, It will be France second stadium in terms of capacity and definitely France overall top five in my book. My only problem with it is the perceived fit and finish of the 3 stands that are already erect, they sorta look cheap. I love the roof but the wall clad is meh, and somebody please do teach french people how to do proper seat lettering cause this is embarrassing.

Nothing to do with Paris bureaucracy dear, since the PSG owners, current and previous ones, have never been interested to play in that stadium as they all claimed numerous times, not to mention the PSG fans who hate this stadium and its location and who have always been 'in love' of the Parc des Princes and its so special atmosphere and architecture.
You can disagree with that if you want but it's a fact, and the PSG fans & owners are the first to have the right to decide & choose.

PSG owners actually were quite interested in the beginning before fan and politician backlash. SDF is very well connected to Paris's public transportation system, so distance would matter very little, plus no new big stadium is really located with the city core anymore.

The fact of the matter is that PDP is a dump, with very little space to modernize it. And the Qataris will want to break even at some point, therefore increasing matchday revenue should be important for them to match the major European clubs. And that will never be possible at PDP. Back to Marseille...

PDP may be a dump as you say but it appears to be nice enough for the club to commit to it for the next 30 years. Which means it's their dump and they are pretty much free to upgrade it to whatever they please within reason! The club will just push the prices of tickets up to match for the lower cap and they will break even like the Juventus does... the front office of PSG is very competent these days. Back on topic!

Actually no, they weren't as they officially stated numerous times. I mean, the Qatari never seemed to want to move in a "no-name" outer suburb because the City of Paris image is very, very important to the Qatari, and especially the very posh district (Auteuil, XVIth Arrondissement , just a step away from the Eiffel Tower) where the Parc des Princes is located, as they claimed several times as well.

Secondly, the Qatari never wanted to share any stadium revenue with anyone, especially with the SdF consortium who is not really famous for its altruism, if I may say so (ask the French Rugby Federation about that )... while, since they bought last spring the PdP operating company (SESE) like they had planned since the beginning, they now manage 100% of the PdP and its revenues.. That's why they decided to stay at the PdP during its current refurbishment, even for the big Champions League games.

And not to forget again, like I wrote above, that the SdF is not located in Paris, but in Seine St-Denis...an area which doesn't have a very good image, quite the opposite actually... and keep in mind that "image" is all that matters for the Qatari.

The sell of the stadium is actually the biggest talking point of the municipal elections. The council also decided to name the stadium in order to give Arema back the money they owe. That's why we heard talk about the Euro 2016 final.

I am very disappointed with what might be the final look of the stadium, considering what has already been built, it looks like an imposing, but very ugly looking hangar.
And apparently of shoddy workmanship and a leaky roof.
That the municipality will have to pay 30 million bucks a year for the next thirty years.

But it isn't finished yet, so there's still hope.
