If I'm being honest I don't care, I spend most of my time in this glorious skybar. But someone needs to be the voice of those 17 no voters!

The mods have heard the request, they just need time to figure out what to do about it. The point has been made, if Newcastle is getting one we will know soon enough.

Okay... so how is an empty subforum going to help this? From what you have been saying, the Newcastle forum could realistically support no more than ten threads... thats just laughable. The sad fact is, so much is coming to a stop, that the larger city forums are going the same way and struggling to justify keeping their subforums. We should be looking at taking a step back over the downturn, not creating more unused space.

Well maybe it would be a good idea if thread size went on population we could all have threads then, large or small.

could support no more than ten threads?

Here is an initial thread list. others who are more familiar with other parts of newcastle or have other interests could probably think of more:

Pilgrim Street Development thread
Gateshead Quays Projects
Gateshead Town Centre
Ouseburn
Science City

Forth Yard
Downing Plan
Strawberry Place
Wellbar Central
Westgate House Replacement
Business Improvement District
Eldon Square Expansion
Haymarket Hub
West End/Expo/Cruddark Park Developments
Gosforth/Regent Centre Thread

Public Art Thread
Metro-Centre Discussion

South Tyneside Developments
North Shields/Tynemouth/Whitley Bay

just thought of a few more:

SJP Expansion
Newcastle Parks
Newcastle Hospitals Development

We could also see Sunderland threads added which would further increase the thread count.

btw if it is needed i'd help get some of the thread underway or even do some modding in the event of the new subforum.

Some more to add into the pot;

Tynedale valley which would include Hexham, Corbridge, Rownens Gill etc.
NE Businesses thread
Cultural Venues in and around Newcastle
Newcastle Full summary thread
Gateshead Full summary thread
East NEWCASTLE (Byker & Wallsend)
COBALT-The UK's Largest Business Park
GREAT PARK-North Newcastle

Newcastle Skybar

A1(don't know if anyone has mentioned transport)

Public transport

River Tyne regeneration

Newcastle United

Other sport in Newcastle

Tyne tunnel

Tyne ferry (Shields ferry)

Does everyone seem to be against us having our own sub-forum? (actual thread)

Johnnypd, I asked the question about people wanting to be a mod if we got asked for, if we got our own sub-forum, and I was hoping you would put you're name forward, you get my vote., well that is if Geordiejon has ruled himself out.

Are the mods considering this?

Would be a good idea. I'm not sure how i feel about Sunderland being in the sub forum, depends on the title of the sub forum :p. But good luck anyhow.

It seems so, Gothic said last week that he would consider it, and admitted that we would probs have one, but since then we have heard nothing.

This used to be in the skybar, untill earlier today I think, so mods have moved it, but i don't know the reason for it yet.
Maybe they are working on one and have moved this out of the way for the while so it wouldn't be as obviouse for example people started complaining that we got one, or maybe they moved it so we wouldn't make so much of a fuss about not having one.

Still, we will wait and see.

Even though there is an economic downturn we still have a lot to discuss and we can more than sustain it - there are a number of developments which are currently taking place which have regular discussions (Eldon Square, Library, Northumbria Uni Sports Centre, Haymarket, Newcastle Uni Building, Wellbar) and other developments that are yet to take place BUT many debates happen (Science City, Stephenson Quarter, Pilgrim Street etc etc)

Oh right.
If we did get our own sub-forum, would you contribute from time to time, since you lived in Whitley Bay for a number of years?
