Liverpool's Summer Pops

First of all an apology for posting this but I couldnt find a suitible thread for it so feel free to move it u wish but:

Did anyone see The Australian Pink Floyd last weekend? OMG what a concert....

I’ve just had the most fantastic weekend at The Liverpool Summer Pops 2005! For the first time ever, The Australian Pink Floyd played back to back performances of WISH YOU WERE HERE (Friday) and ANIMALS plus the the very best of Floyd live and it was amazing to say the least. The big Top provided an excellent venue to showcase the talents of the members of The World’s best Pink Floyd Tribute band and they did it with style. To add to the Big Top, the original 65-foot inflatable teacher (above) used by Roger Waters at the Berlin Wall concert in 1990 was on show outside by special permission plus other inflatables inside.

Friday night’s performance sent shivers up and down my spine as they began by playing the whole of WISH YOU WERE HERE accompanied by an amazing lightshow. The audience went bananas and became more ecstatic as the evening went on. After a 20 minute break it was on with the show and the very best of Pink Floyd was played almost perfectly until 11pm. I found it really hard to sleep that night!

Still buzzing with excitement, I returned to The Big Top on Saturday evening. I decided to enjoy myself a little and after 2 beers and a new t-shirt later, I found my way to my seat very near to the front. 8pm and The Australian Pink Floyd began playing my favourite Floyd album ANIMALS. It was like a dream come true and the first time the band had played it in front of an audience, they chose Liverpool to showcase this performance and it was a privilage to have been there. Again after a 20 minute break they continued with more classic floyd tunes untill 11pm.

Worth every penny in my opinion and I will be returning next year. I’m an Aussie Pink Floyd fan for ever, shine on!

I took plenty of other pics: Here

Talking Animals was class!!

I went on Saturday Kev and thought it was brilliant, watching the crowd go nuts was very amusing, the security just couldn't cope with it,I don't think you'll see a better tribute band anywhere, have you ordered your cd of the two shows yet?

Yep I certainly have

They certainly have the adoration of the scouse audience and know it. Thats why of all the places they could have recorded their dvd and cd of live shows, they chose Liverpool Summer Pops and these guys tour all over the show!

Do people not stand at all? It'd only be half the concert it could be if everyone hat to sit like in school assembly.

The cd is only available to those who went unfortunately BUT the link that you clickon to claim the cd doesnt ask for any proof of attendance, all you pay is for postage. Last I heard they check the order against names on tickets but you could have a go, whats £3 postage?
