Unfortunately I've never been to the Triglav Lakes, but damn, they look puny! It's like that in all the pics of them I see! I really need a pic with a person next to the lake, so I can compare.. lol

Otherwise great pics, although you only included our Alpine lakes, we have nice lakes in other parts of the coutnry aswell.. :)

On a good days, yopu can be on Alps and be able too see coastline. It's got some very nice looking cities and nature. But what is most amazing is that such small countiy got all different types of climates and nature, from sunny beaches of Piran and Portoroze to cold Alps.

I forgot name but that was a festival up in Alps, something like Octoberfest, every year in one of small villages.Lots of drinking, food and amazing sites, standing at bottom of Alps and looking up is just amazing.
Especially if you are drunk :runaway:

Hey, Kampy, on a side note, you wouldn't happen to be of Slovenian origin, would you? I just noticed you have Severno Porenje-Vestfalija under Location..
Nah, I just wanted to make Nordrhein-Westfalen look a bit more exotic. :D I think Slovenia's a great country though and I hope to be visiting it soon again.

Churches (and Landscapes) of SLOVENIA -- Great Photos!

I haven't done of these photo threads in a while. ;)

Many of the churches below are not really special per se, but I hope this will serve as a nice photo tour of Slovenia and its diverse architecture and landscapes:

I am pretty sure this is the Russian church, I guess it because of the gold crosses on the tower. Btw Slovenia looks really nice, I had no idea that small country holds such beauties.
You're absolutely right, BG_PATRIOT (and thanks for your kind words)!

Here's the story: The road over the Vrsic Pass in Slovenia was built by Russian prisoners-of-war during WWI. In 1916, an avalanche buried and killed hundreds of them (the exact number is still unkown) so a small chapel was built in their honor. Even though I included it here, it's a chapel rather than a church -- that's why I called it "a place of worship" -- but mass is held there at least once a year.

Castles, Monasteries, Palaces of SLOVENIA

Now that I know that these threads belong in the "Your Cities" subforum, here's another one, dedicated to Slovenia's castles, palaces and monasteries.
