This one has taken too long already, but then this seems to be par for the course when it comes to developing grounds in this country.

In fairness, they've had to wait three years just to be granted a river works licence.

To be fair, the only country where stadium development is quick and prolific is any country that is shortly to host a major international tournament - when government (local and national) steps in both to pay and to cut through planning difficulties and bureaucratic red tape.

Yeah I know, it's just frustration more than anything. But 3 years to get a river works license is ridiculous.

Granted, that's done with sometimes dubious construction standards and with very low wage labor and state-supported financing, but otherwise...

But yes, 3 years is excessive, IMO. It's not as if we lack the computer modeling in this day and age to calculate worst-case scenarios for environmental impacts on projects like this. Should be pretty clear-cut.

It's not like the demand is there for this anyway. It would be nice to have a new stand but apart from the corporate side of things they don't really need it..
