Prince George, VA

Prince George is an unincorporated community southeast of Petersburg, and is the seat of Prince George County. The population is around 2,000.


The old Prince George County Courthouse, on the courthouse square on Courthouse Road. The courthouse was built in 1883, and is now the Historic County Courts Administration Building.



The old Prince George County Jail, on the courthouse square on Courthouse Road. The jail was built in 1900.



The Confederate Soldiers Monument, on the courthouse square on Courthouse Road. The monument was dedicated in 1927.



The Prince George County Treasurer's Office, on the courthouse square on Courthouse Road. The office was built in 1935.



The Prince George County Assessor's Office, on Courthouse Road. The office was built as a house in 1921.



The old Prince Geroge County Clerk's Office, on Administration Drive. The structure was built in 1900, and later served as the county library, until 2011.



The Prince George County Courthouse, on Courts Drive. The courthouse was built in 1991.



The Prince George County Administration Building, on Courts Drive.



The Prince George Library, on Courts Drive. The library was built in 2011.



The Buren House, on Courthouse Road. The house was built in 1870.



The F.L. Buren General Store, on Courthouse Road. The store was built in 1870.

Sanctuary of God Apolstolic Church, on Courthouse Road. The church was built in 1869 as Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and was remodeled in 1973.
