True, it is old but I like the way that it shows a gradual increase in height from the residential to the skyscraper. It shows what appears to be lacking in most skyline photos of Charlotte, a connected residential area and a sense of organic growth (as in not dominated by huge, entire block corporate developments).

It is not so much a skyline shot as it is a city shot. I like it.

I agree 100%, this picture shows great organic growth, my favorite shot I have not taken yet. Its the view coming into town from 7th, in Elizabeth. Its only a couple buildings buts its a great neighborhood scene not usually depicted.

I like the glitziness of the Charlotte skyline and the density of Nashville, Louisville, and Birmingham with all the old brick buildings. I wish our cities in Oklahoma were a few years older, so we'd have more higher density neighborhoods.

You'd never know there was a concrete river encircling Uptown that disconnects it from surrounding neighborhoods. God how I hate I-277. But anyway...

FOUND IT

this is the view, its from a parking lot off tipton dr. anyone care to go find it, and take a pic for those of us who live 500 miles away from home :-(?
I gotcha. I'll try to grab that shot within the next few days.

The skyline looks very narrow from that angle. I've never seen that before.

Yeah its further away and elevated.. gives a different angle and view, which is why I like it so much.

I like this picture of OKC too. It shows the whole NE side of town. Is that Lake Arcadia in the upper right? I think I can also see Frontier City. Though seeing this picture makes me wonder why the State Capitol wasn't located closer to downtown. I think I know the answer though. I seem to remember reading that someone donated the land for it.

A few Kansas City skyline shots, hope you don't mind.
KC and the state of Missouri have many southern qualities and charms.

Downtown with KCK in the forefround

Downtown with midtown in the foreground
