i don't consider Kluang as remote..it's been quite a while since my last visit to Kluang but from my last visit there, i consider Kluang is quite a good town with several high end township, plus a new huge township (forget it's name, after Hospital Kluang)..but only because the population is not high as Kuantan.

from my own view, i still think it is about purchasing power, revenue and profit..you just can see how Berjaya Megamall is doing now..no really good tenant. and how many times the anchor tenants changed..

as for ECM, i don't consider Uniqlo as high end in fashion. so maybe it's true that H&M will be coming soon to Kuantan.

but for Aeon, it's still a long way to go. Aeon's current policy to slow their expansion and Aeon ST18 case maybe can be a reference to the direction of Aeon Kuantan.

whatever it is, i'm hoping that i'm wrong

To all H&M fans in Kuantan, H&M potentially open their first H&M in Kuantan inside the mall. Because H&M and new AEON Mall berpisah tiada.
the planning of Aeon Mall beside new second bridge have started as early as 2014. yes, Aeon have already owned that land..but until now, there's not even a signboard yet..wait until the hoarding covered that area, then only we can start cheering..

Yeah, I agree. But based on the posts posted by ja2008, they already sent application for Internal Work at the site to MPK. Then, I hope the construction gonna be start within next year or in 2019.

I read in newspaper AEON Management expected to build one or two more Aeon Mall within 3 years after AEON Mall Kuching (Under Construction) and AEON Nilai (Under Construction). The AEON Mall Kuching is expected to open Q2 2018.

This is not the bridge, this is the flyover from the bridge to the Aeon site.

JAMBATAN BARU TANJUNG LUMPUR

H&M to close more stores as customers go online

STOCKHOLM: Swedish clothing giant Hennes & Mauritz on Friday said sales fell below expectations in the fourth quarter and it would close more stores as customers increasingly prefer to shop online.

H&M CEO Karl-Johan Persson said in a statement that the company's "online sales and sales of the group's other brands continued to develop well" but that physical stores "were negatively affected by a continued challenging market situation with reduced footfall to stores due to the ongoing shift in the industry".

Sales between September and November dropped by four percent compared to the same period last year to 50.4 billion kronor (5 billion euros, US$5.9 billion). In local currencies, sales fell by two percent.

"The numbers are really, really bad," Joakim Bornold, an economist at the investment bank Nordnet, told the daily Svenska Dagbladet.

"I can't remember when H&M had a quarter in which the sales fell," he added.

At 1400 GMT, the company's share price plunged by nearly 13 percent on Stockholm's stock exchange.

"In order to respond even quicker to customers' fast-changing behaviour the company's ongoing transformation journey is being accelerated," Persson said.

"This includes continued integration of the physical and digital stores, and intensifying the optimisation of the H&M brand's store portfolio -- leading to more store closures and fewer openings," he added.

The group did not specify exactly how many stores would be closed and where.

H&M had announced earlier this year that it would open physical stores around the world to compensate for the downturn due to fierce competition from online sales platforms.

H&M group, which owns other popular brands such as COS, Monki and Weekday, has 4,553 physical stores around the world as of August 31.--AFP

KUANTAN | Pahang | State Capital City

Seems like despite being the closest East Coast city to the bustling Greater KL, property development in Kuantan is losing out to both KT and KB... Unlike the latter two cities with their growing skylines, I donít see ANY high rise structures (i.e. above 10 floors) coming up in Kuantan, whether residential or hotels... Kinda surprising when at one time, KTN was the most booming city in the East Coast, while KT and KB were like rural backwaters!

Still, the industrial sector in KTN is definitely doing well, thanks to the Gebeng area with the massive MCKIP under construction... As well as the many petrochemical plants that operate 24 hours a day and letís not forget Kuantan Port, the biggest one in the East Coast...

Losing out to KT and KB in high rise property only. But for landed property, such as new township and large housing scheme, Kuantan still on par if not ahead of those two city.

Kuantan just don't take advantage of the tourism industries. Most hotels in Kuantan were full during holiday. Something has to change.
