You mean the 5 million in Sydney, and the 20 million not living in Sydney

Lolz at you calling Avatar ludicrous and then talking about Alan Jones. Anyway, as much as it won't happen, I think we should be aiming big. Hong Kong shut down Kai Tak and moved everything, why can't we? As others have said, we are looking to build something to suit two diametrically opposed goals of being affordable to LCC's, but suitable for late night international arrivals. Who the fuck is going to want to unload their inbound passengers from London at something like Avalon airport? No one.

Stage it, by all means, but don't let it happen organically, because it'll be a disaster. Create a single master plan, to be built continuously and opened in stages, with a legislated winding down of KSIA over a decade, with a final view for it to be sold off. Otherwise we will end up with a bunch of fucking demountable terminal buildings with no one interested in using except Tiger. It's about time they grew some balls and built us a real airport worthy of the gateway to Australia.

In my fantasy rail map, I'd have the Leppington line come up, and the NWRL extended and come down. All complimented with a "Heathrow Express" style line direct from the terminal > Parramatta > Olympic Park > Central.
Shameless self promotion
