Red Orang Utans seems more appropriate.

KLIA2 is now certified fit for use

April 18, 2014 MYT 1:48:54 PM

PETALING JAYA: KLIA2 has finally been given the long awaited Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) on Friday.

The certificate was handed over by the main contractors, the UEM-Bina Puri consortium to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, in a ceremony on Friday.

There are three parts to the issuance of a CCC; it needs to comply with the Fire and Rescue Department, Sepang Municipal Council and Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) specifications and KLIA2 has complied with all the conditions and is now certified safe for use.

The Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (Orat) procedures has been under way for over a month now and the new low cost air terminal will open for operations on May 2.

Orat is a comprehensive methodology and holistic approach employed to ensure the operational readiness of a new airport or airport infrastructure project.

Five airlines – Malindo Air, Cebu Pacific Air, Tiger Airways Singapore, Lion Air and Indonesia’s Mandala Airlines will begin operations on May 2 and AirAsia will join in before May 9. On May 9, the existing LCCT will cease operation

Pardon me for silly question. Can somebody help to find where exactly KLIA2 is situated?

http://www.klia2.info/about-klia2#where-is-klia2

Above link shows it is to the west of KLIA. But google map/earth or wikimapia don't show any building west of it except Bunga Raya VIP COmplex.

Google map usually take 3~5 year to update the map. we usually download google earth software and watch, it have tool call "historical imagery" so can see latest map like below, but for KLIA2 latest map is on 27/1/2013.

Thanks for the pictures. It looks really huge for me. I hope to land if I get a chance. I was waiting for it before my studies completed in UIA last Feb.

Two different airports, two different roles; any comparison is hardly relevant. As I believe you know, Kuala Namu International is an airport made to serve the city of Medan, while KLIA 2, catered towards low-cost carriers, is merely a terminal at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. One serves the largest city in Sumatra, the other serves the capital of Malaysia.

Oh yes i guess ur right. Nonetheless, it still look awesome as either a low-cost or not. Awesome!

But wait, im still confuse here, is KLIA 2 considered as an airport or a terminal?
