Up until 2005 the terminal looked like this:

The ugly cladding was installed during WW2 in order to "bomb-proof" it.

I could be wrong but they appear to be polished aluminum. That material fits the Art Deco theme perfectly. I fail to see how they are "terrible".

This is not art deco either. Art deco uses a lot of sleek, straight lines and almost cubist shapes and detailing. These details are too organic for art deco.

I'd say it is borderline. Then again Art Deco does not really have a specific definition.
