Very sweet pictures, xtemujin! are you a Peranakan by any chance?

S'pore artefacts go to France

8 May 09

SINGAPORE'S Peranakan artefacts will make their debut in Europe, as part of an agreement between Singapore's Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) and the Musee du Quai Branly (MQB) of France.
Over 300 Peranakan artefacts will be on display at the MQB during a three-month-long travelling exhibition entitled 'Between Multiple Worlds - The Chinese Peranakans of Southeast Asia'.

Some of the items include iconic Peranakan artefacts such as a beaded tablecloth and a gilded teak altar sideboard converted into a Catholic altar, the National Heritage Board (NHB) said.

In exchange, the MQB will loan to ACM an exhibition of African tribal art for three months, with cultural programmes expected to complement the exhibit.

The mutual exchange of exhibitions follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two museums on Friday.

No lah, I'm not Peranakan, just came down to capture the event.

Thanks bro, great article about the exchange between the museums.

Sorry bout that I think Peranakan cuisine is also very unique. Does the museum have a section on that? I know the National Museum has an exhibit on Singapore cuisine.

You cover events photography very well. Also great skill at people photography.

No worries bro, I believe that the Peranakan Museum only shows the cookware and not the Peranakan cuisine.

It's easier to take people photos at an event as they're more open to it.

Thanks bro.
