FIVE YARDS: official handover of rehabilitated infrastructures of the BIPT .

The vice-premier in charge of Reconstruction, conducted on behalf of the Head of State, Joseph Kabila, Monday, October 19, 2009 at the official handover of infrastructure completely rehabilitated from the Institute of Construction and Public Works (BIPT ), to mark the opening of the academic year 2009-2010 over the whole of the Republic.

The buildings presented to the community of the BIPT saw the commencement of works in August 2008 at the initiative of the Head of State within five yards.

This work was carried out by the Central Bureau of Coordination (BCECO) and executed by the company SOGEDI-Construction on equity of government whose amount is estimated at 2,500,000 (two million five hundred thousand) U.S. dollars.

The administrative building, the homes of students, workshop rooms and laboratories, restaurants, sanitary facilities and other five blocks have been completely renovated and modernized.

The Deputy Prime Minister praised the magnificent gesture of the Head of State, which is the symbol of his determination to rebuild the country and its emphasis on training of youth in the right conditions.

In view of improving the quality of university education, the government plans to build large universities in each province and to rehabilitate existing infrastructure like the BIPT, he said.

The Director General of BCECO, Matata Mpongo, the governor of Kinshasa, Kimbuta Yango, the Director General of the BIPT and the head of the company SOGEDI also praised the book, recommending and proper use.

One stone two birds: the gloss of the renovated of the BIPT has lent to the opening of the academic year 2009-2010 to the ESU

The Minister of Higher Education and University, Leonard Mashako Mamba, placed the academic year 2009-2010 under the sign of rebuilding and stabilizing the area of the ESU on several fronts at the double ceremony official handover of the BIPT of infrastructure and the official opening of the academic year 2009-2010.

On the regulatory and legal framework, the Minister said he will update the Framework Act on National Education for which the Government had already adopted the bill which will soon be tabled in Parliament.

In terms of human resources, the Minister expressed his desire to fight for the budgetary authority is attentive to social educators and staff, not to mention the scholarship students, the mechanization of thousands of executives and the making honorable retreat with other managers.

He invited the various management committees to engage in work safety and rehabilitation, and in compliance with the academic calendar to avoid overlap of academic years and laxity in the administration of the ESU.

The moral and patriotic values, physical education must be strengthened to forge a healthy mind and train the elite honor.

To promote the integration of the University Congolese Minister generalized learning the English language and computers in all universities, all colleges and all Congolese research centers.

Opening of the academic year 2009-2010 to the UCC

The 2009-2010 academic year was officially opened Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Catholic University of Congo (UCC) in the town of Limete.

The Rector of the UCC, Professor Abbe Jean-Bosco Matand said in his speech some changes in his Alma Mater in particular the decision of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO) to form since July 15, 2009 the Catholic Faculties of Kinshasa (FCK) in UCC whose application has been effective since 1 October 2009.

He noted the change of colors and logos in robes of professors.

The real change, noted the President Matand, must be the mentality and work for that institution shine the light of Christ and become a great institution in the heart of Africa as advocated by the bishops.

The Rector of the UCC also said the appointment by the CENCO, organizing power, the new Vice-President and Secretary General Administrative UCC.

He also announced the operation of this academic year a new faculty of law and political science at UCC.

The Institute of Construction and Public Works (BIPT) completely rehabilitated.



On the initiative of President Joseph Kabila, the Institute of Construction and Public Works (BIPT) is completely rehabilitated and equipped. The rehabilitation works are in the final phase. The Minister of the ESU, Mashako visited audiences, offices, homes of students where all electrical circuits have been redone, room and catering kitchen, bathrooms, workshops, showers and washrooms.


Mashako The Minister commended the efforts made by the head of state Joseph Kabila in the materialization of five yards in its educational component.




He also said other universities built and rehabilitated in the same spirit, including the University of Bukavu.






In the vision of President Kabila, the focus will be strengthening the Higher Institutes for supporting the Primary, Secondary and Vocational Education (EPSP), universities, technical courses for the training of engineers and technicians in all areas.

L’Institut de Bâtiment et des Travaux publics (IBTP) complètement réhabilité.



Sur initiative du Président Joseph Kabila, l’Institut de Bâtiment et des Travaux publics (IBTP) est complètement réhabilité et équipé. Les travaux de réhabilitation sont à la phase finale. Le ministre de l’ESU, Mashako a visité les auditoires, les bureaux, les homes des étudiants où tous circuits électriques ont été refait, la salle de cuisine et de restauration, les salles, les ateliers, les douches ainsi que les toilettes.


Le Ministre Mashako a salué les efforts déployés par le Chef de l’Etat Joseph Kabila dans la matérialisation de cinq chantiers dans son volet Education.




Il a souligné également d’autres universités construites et réhabilitées dans le même élan, notamment l’Université de Bukavu.






Dans la vision du Président Kabila, l’accent sera mis dans le renforcement des Instituts Supérieurs pour appuyer l’Enseignement Primaire, Secondaire et Professionnel (EPSP), des universités, des filières techniques pour la formation des ingénieurs et techniciens dans tous les domaines.









La numérisation des universités congolaises, une vision du Président Kabila.



La numérisation des universités et instituts supérieurs congolais, le renforcement des instituts supérieurs pédagogiques et techniques, l’implantation des filières techniques, la construction et réhabilitation des établissements, l’amélioration des conditions sociales des enseignements, sont parmi les axes majeurs de la vision du chantier éducation du Président Joseph Kabila.


Le Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieure et Universitaire (ESU), Léonard Mashako Mamba l’a déclaré lundi lors de sa visite d’inspection effectuée dans différents établissements à Kinshasa.


Au Centre de Documentions de l’Enseignement Supérieur, Universitaire et de la Recherche de Kinshasa (CEDESSURK), le ministre a visité les installations de ce Campus numérique, qui organise depuis 2001, les formations permanente et continue en Nouvelles Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication (NTIC) et la formation universitaire à distance. Il s’est enquis de la bibliothèque du CEDESURK, connectée à d’autres bibliothèques du monde qui dispose plus 11000 (onze mille) ouvrages récents et consultatifs.


Le ministre Mashako a indiqué que le CEDESURK est le modèle de ce que doit être l’université congolaise en matière de normes de fonctionnement avant de signaler que beaucoup d’universités congolaises et instituts supérieurs sont déjà connectés pour réduire la fracture numérique.


A l’Institut Supérieur de Commerce (ISC/Kinshasa), le ministre a indiqué le rôle important que cet institut joue dans la formation des cadres et gestionnaires en informatique que le comité de gestion actuel voudrait remettre la gloire d’antan. Le ministre Mashako a relevé également la nécessité de réhabiliter des homes des étudiants abandonnés et qui ne sont plus utilisés.


A l’Institut Supérieur Pédagogique (ISP/Gombe), le ministre a visité la salle informatique, de nouveaux auditoires construits, des installations sportives réhabilitées et la paillote didactique des étudiants en hôtellerie, qui est en pleine construction.


Celle-ci servira de pratique en matière de restauration dans le cadre de la réalisation du chantier éducation, a souligné le Directeur Général de l’ISP/Gombe, Pr. Matumumele. Son institution sera bientôt équipée en différents matériels et des bancs avec l’appui du gouvernement.

The school complex of cutting and sewing inaugurated Mbakana.
Kinshasa, 20/10/2009 / Company
This work was initiated by the parish priest of Saint Isidore Bakanza Gregory Tsuame of Mbakana 150 km from downtown Kinshasa.

On Saturday, October 17, 2009, a strong delegation led by British Ambassador to the Republic of Congo, Mr. Nick Kay, had fallen to Mbakana, located about 150 km from downtown Kinshasa. Objective, inaugurating a school building for vocational training in dressmaking. This work was initiated by the parish priest of Saint Isidore Bakanza Gregory Tsuame.

Funded by the Embassy of Great Britain in DRC and executed by the NGO Elcos This gem gives the opportunity for girls to learn a trade in vogue at the moment, instead of embarking on especially prostitution and remained in idleness. On this occasion the parish priest of St Isidore Bakanza, welcomed the assistance of Ms. Okako, president of the NGO Elcos and its partner, the British Embassy represented by Ambassador Nick Kay. For the priest, this is a great development support for the tray Bateke. He then welcomed the desire of women of this country to become a seamstress one day.

He took the opportunity to request a construction of a boarding school, a literacy center and an inn with 10 rooms, which he believes will contribute to the smooth running of the school. He said that micro projects are under development and seeking funding and support material for their implementation. To conclude his speech, the pastor said that this heritage will be well managed despite his lack of sanitation.

Ms. Okako, head number one Ong Elcos, thanked Mr Nick Kay have defended the project by contributing financially. He informed the audience that this jewel will remain unforgettable in the memories of residents and especially Mbakana Plateau Bateke in general. In his introduction, the British diplomat, Nick Kay, introduced his colleagues from Belgium and South Africa who accompanied him to Mbakana, the benefits of this school. For him, his presence symbolizes the sharing of joy in honor of this work. He recalled the two priorities for Britain in the DRC, namely: peace building and poverty reduction. After the speeches, the place was left to cut the symbolic ribbon, marking the inauguration.

To complete this activity, the ancestors of Mbakana have appealed to government officials, specifically in the area of Education for the Open University on a place to avoid displacement of students over very long distances . He was also asked the rehabilitation of the standpipe so that people come to drink water.

Laying the first stone of the rehabilitation of the college our lady of MBANZA-MBOMA


For a cost of $ 900,000, the College of Notre Dame MBANZA-MBOMA will be rehabilitated by the Social Fund of the Republic (FSRDC). The first stone was laid on last weekend by Simon Mbatshi, governor of Bas-Congo.

The works consist of the construction of 9 buildings with 24 classrooms, 14 bedrooms, 2 dining and kitchen. The work will be performed by the Company of Commerce and Industry of Congo (SCICO) will take 11 months. The school will also be equipped with beds, mattresses, tables, benches, desks, chairs, computers, laboratory equipment and teaching. The water supply will be 5,000 liters.

The Catholic University of Graben (UCG) - Butembo was founded on 22nd August 1989 by Bishop Emmanuel KATALIKO,former Bishop of Butembo. Government authorized UCG by ministerial decree ESU/CABNIN/0297/91 of 26/9/1991. UCG is a member of the Federation of Catholic Institutes and universities of Kivu. UCG is a member of ACUHIAM and IFCU.

Université Notre Dame du Kasayi, UKA



Histoire brève

L’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi (U.KA.) a été effectivement fondée par un décret des Évêques de la CEPKA du 27 juillet 1996 pour répondre à besoin de la population d’avoir une université susceptible de donner aux personnes qui la fréquenteraient une solide formation scientifique ouverte aux préoccupations de l’homme d’aujourd’hui et utile à la société, dans les domaines de la santé, de l’agriculture, de l’habitat, de l’administration, etc.. Le 15 octobre de la même année eut lieu à Kananga, siège de l’U.KA., l’ouverture solennelle de la première année académique 1996-1997 consacrée à la mise en place des structures de l’Université et à la recherche de moyens de fonctionnement.

Le 15 octobre 1997 eut lieu l’ouverture simultanée des deux campus, à Kananga et Kabinda. L’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi accueillait alors ses premiers étudiant(e)s inscrit(e)s en propédeutique. Douze mois plus tard, le 15 octobre 1998, sont ouverts les premiers graduats en agronomie (campus de Kabinda) et en médecine (campus de Kananga).

A l’ouverture de l’année académique 1999-2000, les deux campus de l’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi comptaient quatre années d’études : l’année de propédeutique et les trois années de graduat en agronomie et en médecine. Le nombre des étudiant(e)s dans les deux campus s’élevaient à plus de quatre cents (400).

Elle vient d’être reconnue au début de l’année civile 2004 comme une Université catholique à part entière par la Sacrée Congrégation pour l’Éducation Catholique. Par l’arrêté ministériel n°104/MINESU/JM/2004 du 28 octobre 2004, elle vient d’être prise en charge par l’État congolais grâce au sérieux de son travail.

L’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi est devenue membre de la Fédération Internationale des Universités Catholiques (F.I.U.C.) et de l’Association des Universités et Instituts Catholiques d’Afrique et de Madagascar (ASUNICAM).

Objectifs de l’université Notre Dame du Kasayi

A la lumière de Ex Corde Ecclesiae, des besoins particuliers du pays et du lieu de son implantation, la mission de l’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi s’avère être:

a) la formation d’un nouveau type d’homme et de femme intellectuellement et moralement équilibrés, toujours attentifs aux multiples besoins du Kasayi et du pays, et animés du souci permanent de l’amélioration du niveau de vie de la population ;

b) la promotion de la recherche scientifique. Les sciences et les techniques à enseigner à l’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi n’auront pas en elles-mêmes leur finalité, parce que destinées à se transformer en pratique effective pour le service de la population. La pratique et ses implications auront donc une place de choix dans la formation des étudiant(e)s de l’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi ;

c) un effort d’inculturation et d’endogénisation, c’est-à-dire d’enracinement dans la culture locale. Universelle par vocation, l’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi se doit cependant de revêtir des couleurs locales. D’où la nécessité de se ressourcer continuellement au contact des valeurs de son milieu d’implantation. L’U.KA. a par conséquent l’énorme responsabilité de revitaliser les traditions du terroir kasayen ;

d) la quête de l’excellence.

L’Université dispose de 5 centres de recherches multidisciplinaires avec une méthodologie appropriée pour chacun d’eux :

- Centre d’Etudes sur les Cultures africaines (CECA) fonctionnant à Tshumbe ;

- Centre d’Informatique et cybercafé fonctionnant dans tous les campus ;

- Centre « Foi et Engagement social » fonctionnant dans tous les campus;

- Centre de Langues vivantes fonctionnant dans tous les campus;

- Centre sportif implanté dans tous les campus.



Originalité de l’Université Notre-Dame du Kasayi

- Introduction du cours d’informatique dans les deux cycles des facultés de l’Université ;

- Le cours de médecine traditionnelle africaine est dispensé dans tous les cycles de la faculté de médecine. Celle-ci dispose en son sein d’un département de médecine traditionnelle africaine ;

Académie des Beaux-Arts [Kinshasa].


The Académie des Beaux-Arts (ABA) is a school in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The school is devoted to teaching the arts, and was founded in 1943 as the École Saint-Luc à Gombe Matadi by Belgian missionary Marc Wallenda. In 1949 the school moved to present-day Kinshasa and in 1957 it was renamed as the Académie des Beaux-Arts. During the education reforms of 1981 the school was integrated into the national technical university system.

The school offers programs in metalworking, interior decorating, visual communications, sculpture, painting.




École d'Informatique d'Électronique et d'Expertise comptable


The École d’Informatique, d’Electronique et d’Expertise Comptable is a school in Kinshasa devoted to computer science, electronics and accounting. The school was founded in 1972 by Anatole Musoko Kanumbi. The school's name is abbreviated to EIECO. It has played a leading role in the development of high-tech in the Kinshasa-Brazzaville area.

EIECO offers programs in computer science, radio communications, telecommunications, electronics, electrical engineering, and accounting. It is modeled after similar institutions in Europe.

Kalemie: 360 winners have just passed their test for admission to the University Center of Kalemie


In Kalemie, 360 winners from various schools in the city and its environs have just passed their test admission this Sunday, 25/10/2009 at 10 AM local time at the University Center of Kalemie, an extension of the University of Lubumbashi.

According to Professor Kya Kisimba Ngoy, director of University Center Kalemie, this competition is the quality of students and not quantity of students and this occurs in all academic institutions of the Congo Rd. This, after passing through the country's Minister of National Education and university Mashako Mamba.

"Several vulnerabilities have been identified by the Minister during his inspection is particularly complacency during registration, failure and incompetence on a large scale of students," says the director, adding that any student who has not obtained the required average will be unloaded from travel. Muhammad Ali's daughter to mark 'rumble' in Kinshasa

KINSHASA — Khaliah Ali, a daughter of the boxer Muhammad Ali, arrived Monday in the Democratic Republic of Congo on a humanitarian visit and to mark her father's 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle" with George Foreman.

The former top model, 35, will visit centres for war orphans and schools for women in southern Katanga province, particularly those which help them become self-reliant and independent, the local UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) office told AFP.

Ali, accompanied by Congolese-born model Noella Coursaris Musunka, will also lay the foundation stone of the Georges Malaika School, being built by a foundation created by Coursaris to help women and children in provincial capital Lubumbashi.

"This trip gives me an opportunity to get involved in aid programmes" in the DR Congo, Khaliah Ali said, according to a UNICEF statement.

On October 30 she will visit the Kinshasa stadium where on the same date in 1974 her father knocked out George Foreman in a clash of titans known as the "Rumble in the Jungle", watched by 60,000 people in the stadium and millions worldwide.

Ali won the world heavyweight title several times in a 61-fight career, winning 56 bouts, with five defeats. He has been suffering from Parkinson's disease for many years.

KHALIA Ali, la fille de l’ancien boxeur américain Mohamed Ali, est arrivée lundi à Lubumbashi. Elle est venue remercier le peuple congolais pour le soutien apporté à son père en 1974 lors du combat qui avait opposé ce dernier à Georges FOREMAN.


KHALIA ALI a en outre, elle a promis de renforcer les capacités des associations féminines de la place. KHALIA devrait effectuer une visite dans certaines écoles de Lubumbashi dont le Lycée TWENDELE, le lycée KIWELE et l’école BALOU.

Son programme prévoit, mardi, la pose de la première pierre au quartier KALEBUKA pour la construction d’une école de filles.

Yesterday Kinshasa: Opening a workshop on writing "100% Congolese fiction" .

To mark the International Day of television celebrated November 21 of each year, the French Cultural Center (CCF), the Halle de la Gombe will organize screenings called "100% Congolese fiction.

Alongside these projections, it is organized by the collective associations film, directed by Aime Banza, in collaboration with Cifap, a workshop on writing fiction, which opened its doors on Monday in the multipurpose room Ccf. This workshop is sponsored by the Embassy of France and the Franco-British project "Media for Democracy."
