...like this...it was...( Herald Sun pics )

Also see in this pic that they have already built the podium of Aus108 and further along City rd the podiums of all the apartment blocks ready and waiting.QBH doesn't seem too worried...yet.
and ironically, see all the cars parked this side of City rd opposite where Aus108 will go...They are all BMW's..! amazing...

That's how I remember it Red!

Second pic looks like early seventies, without researching the building completion dates down near La Defense...

But take a look at the world scale, not backyard 'Hicksville' Melbourne. We spend most of our time condemning 200 metre tall buildings for being overly massive.
Look at it this way, maybe it's a 600m wannabe with the top 300metres lopped off. Same base dimension really.
I just meant I was worried it would look better if it was 'thinner' - like the original concept.
I just don't like wide building much lol. I like tall, and being wide the optical illusion could be it doesn't look as tall.
But ill wait on more renderings.

What's wrong with a couple of old timers reminiscing? I find their thoughts and outlook on life rather refreshing and it's good to see how Melbourne has changed over the years.

Thanks Guys! You just have to remember we are both out on the road all day, nearly every day, and when we get back to our respective homes we sometimes like to reminisce on how it used to be when we used to travel around Melbourne 40 or so years ago. I wish that I could stop and take a look around, and take lots more photos, but just too busy now that I'm over the back surgery and all. Time to make a few more million, just to stay happy! It's tough!

That area of Southbank will be the most imposing skyscraper spot in Oz, especially with Australia 108 going up.
