Thank you. You've summed my points up well. There are a few other good reasons why many Koreans want a tall skyscraper (perhaps a stylish one). Seoul still is devoid of an iconic landmark.

This is "off topic" But i'd like to clear for real problem in seoul city's future.

As above News paper article 3 Major project "rejected by seoul mayor"
Though president of korea want to release irrational regulation but seoul mayor refuse suggestion. So even korea goverment can not do anything now.

1. GBC (under 8floor/110floors) rejected by seoul mayor.
Now HYUNDA&KIA MOTORS suffer under diversity head office.
Hyundai office seperated all around seoul(head office located in south west of seoul. But very far from center of seoul)

So hyudai group wish for strong global head office in seoul. They want to gathering all R&D building and Marketing building in GBC of duck island.

But only seoul didn't allow.

2.KOREA AIRLINE's 7 grade Hotel in seoul. project also rejected by seoul mayor. KOREA AIRLINE want to built hotel beside KUNGBUK palace in seoul. But it is vicinity schools. Many korean thinks HOTEL is sex place. So seoul mayor reject project.

3. LG R&D center also reject by seoul mayor. Actually LG want to buying 23,192㎡ land but seoul mayor don't like Big company so just sell only 133,588㎡. What so funny is after sell half land to LG then after no more land selling. No body want to buying land(Magok). So Suddenly seoul mayor go to china for sell extra land to china fund! Imagin? What a ridiculous. LG is korean company How can seoul mayor discrimination korea company with china?

President of korea want to solve Above 3 major problem..But failed.
Not only above 3 problem but also many big project failed...

Predecessor mayors were government party. Theses mayor make great project such like a "chong gae chon with water flow" and "Design seoul", "Lotte 123fl tower" "IFC SEOUL".

But now seoul mayor He is political opposition party. So his political agenda is so called "city farming policy" which restricting the develop project..... and plant rice or vegetable in seoul city.( for example he plant rice rather than cancelled opera house of seuol project in nudul island of seoul)

Therefore he keep restricting the development of tall building in seoul.

He's insane, he achieves the exact opposite of what he wants. Tall buildings mean more space can be used for fields of rice or vegetables

100% Agree.
What i love tall building is ...it can make a huge empty sapce in city.

Seoul very density... hard to find empty sapce. If skyscraper to built, then ramain space can be used for fields of tree and green plants life futhermore make a park for people.
