It's expected to host matches from March 2017.

This stadium reminds me of the Olympic Stadium in London. Renovations all the time. The funny thing will be if they decide to put up a roof again.

- Bolshoi Ice Arena - the same: ice hockey arena for one of the Russian professional ice hockey league - KHL, just like NHL. Many good teams from Rusisa and other neighboring counts play there regularly. Sochi people are happy with hockey in town, ice hockey is big in Russia.
- Speed skating arena - became big tennis academy - school for children to learn tennis. Russians keep producing big tennis stars every 4-5 years. More Sharapova to come soon I guess.
- Small hockey arena - sport school for small kids and summer sport camp for kids from northern regions.
Iceberg arena - figure skating and short track venue - now is a training center for figure skating and ice shows /figure skating theater performances. Concert venue. In summer months it's super busy with events, in winter it's training center for figure skatiers.
- Olympic stadium Fisht - now is almost ready for FIFA 2018 and future soccer stadium - home for a local soccer team. And future venue to host international games for national team vs other teams. Especially for earlier spring and autumn months - every other stadium up Norht will be too cold to host, while Sochi is in the south and would have perfect grass and temperature to host any international game.
- curling arena - not sure....
- they finished building Amusement park for kids - like Disneyland, but with Russian cartoons heroes and legends.
- Olympics park with fountains and etc - still there and popular amount tourists and locals. They host different events there.
- they added Formula-1 race track.
- venues in the mountain cluster is a cool ski resorts and training centers for Russian teams in bobsleigh and ski jumping.
- they build high speed train commute through all Sochi along coast line ( I guess it's like 100 km)
- new roads, highways system, city has no more problems with traffic
- new international airport
- few new hospitals
- beaches were cleaned a lot into almost perfection. New pedestrian sidewalk along the beach. It's quite long. 10-15 km or smth.
- new safety, police, lifeguards and EMERCON facilities, new firefighters station and etc
- new seaport with parkings spots for 4-6 big cruiseliners/ ships
- new sewage system (Sochi also had a big problems with rains and town sewing system was polluting the sea. No more, now it's cleaner)
- new power system for the whole system (now city can build more seaside real wastage housing and hotel for sale)
- Sochi in general received a big facelift, like new pavements, modern design for green pedestrian avenue and boulevards, few new parks and publics squares, new asphalt all around and improved road system. Almost everything is available for wheelchair access.
- they build 100 km of new highway through the whole city from scratch. And new highway road and rail road next to it from the city to the mountains for fast access to the ski resorts and nature park in the valley for hiking and other activities you normally see in Swiss Alpes, Andes, Rocky Mountains and etc. (althoug in the smaller scale, they just starting). Motorway highway and rail road there are beautiful and full of tunnels and big bridges at the bottom of the Krasnaya Polyana valley. It goes along the river and you can see mountain ridges on both sides.
- since the end of olympics they build few upscale luxury hotels and resorts up in the mountains.
- real estate went up very rapidly and new investments in the city is ongoing.

Russians build their own little Switzerland and Ibiza resort city. It's very popular now for vacation. Although I heard Russians complained it always too busy and hard to find a hotel and spot on the beach, they have to book 3-4 months in advance. It's busy at summer and packed in the mountain cluster in winters time. So they keep building more hotels and tourist infrastructure. With the Russian currency deviation it became very cheap and affordable, therefore very popular too. So tourism business is going up in this region.

So if it is true they spent $52 bln, I say: it was very well spent. Most of those money went not only to build sport arenas, but more into infrastructure and making the city better for locals and tourists for vacations. Now there is less Russians going to Turkey for summer vacation, but more preferring to stay locally: like Sochi or Crimea.

Here you can see locals hanging around in the Oympic park and plaza. Some sport schools full of kids doing sports, like hockey, figure skating, tennis and others. Amusement Disneyland-like park for kids. New Universtity, ballet school, science and educational center Sirius and etc. they host different public events and competitions in Olymlic park every other weekend. Airshows, concerts and etc. Regular with car or moto races, Formula-1 Russian Grand Prix and others.

It's on Russian, but if you watch it you will get the visual idea:
