Gorgeous pics!!! It's so cool the far north and far south of Africa get snow each winter! Posted a bunch of pics of the Cape (South Africa) when we had so much heavy snow last year July/August. Hopefully can get some beauties again this coming winter.

Snow is so pretty. We had 10'' here on Sunday night/Monday morning. I shoveled for an hour because it was so windy so the snow would blow right back

I wish I could find pics of snow in the mountains of Ethiopia.
One of my distant cousins went to a remote village in the Semien mountains about 2 years ago during the winter (July/August) and when she got there there was melting snow on the ground. She ended up staying there longer than expected because they got a snowstorm and the roads were impassable.
She told me she took pics but I've lost touch with her so I can't get access to them.

I heard that it snowed in Northeastern Somalia in 2005. Could have been hail though.

There is no seven meters snow even in the south and norh poles. Alaska get annually 1 meter one of the highest snowfull in the world.

The seven meter you are speaking about is not a snowfull but a blown up snow by wind to low areas such us valleys or the feet of hills and mountains and the edge of houses. No one can survive in a seven meters snow.

The average annual snowfall at the South Pole is around 20 to 40 inches. That is not even one meter.

yes, it is a blown up snow, the wind sweep it. there is no way over all the history of the earth that clouds can carry a 7 meter snowfall.

I've never ever heard of 7 meters of snow falling from one storm. That's downright impossible.
It's probably a combination of several successive storms that piled a fresh layer of snow before the older one melted and drifts due to wind.

Snow Down South

Didn't see any pics of snow from way down here in the Cape... thought I'd contribute some of the pics I took last winter. We'll hopefully get this much snow again come June/July/August. I love the white powder!!!

All pics taken within 150km of Cape Town.

off course there is no 7 meters of snow falling in just one storm
this picture was taking in this last december 2008

morocco was knowing Perturbations comes from Arctic that last for 3 weeks
Which led to series of storms Did not allow the snow removal on main roads Which led to the accumulation of snow up to 7 meters in height
