GURNEY PARAGON | Penang (Gurney Drive) | 43 fl x 2 | T/O

I scan it from the chinese newspaper. This is one of the Hunza Property project. This project located at Gurney Drive. I belive is the area of the current Uplands School. Which is quite near to the Gurney Plaza. This project include a Shopping mall, a Festival Square ( which i belive Gurney Drive need it very much ), office buildings, and condo.

That is the rendering for the project. And these two buildings, i belive is over 45 stories. And it will be the tallest twin in Penang in the future

didn't expect the plan to be published so fast! it's supposed to be published in the 1st quarter of next year. Hunza poured lots of money in this project, must be a great one

this buildings will not only be the tallest twin but also the 2nd tallest in Penang!! (i think it will also be 2nd tallest in Malaysia outside KL) and it's located beside the current tallest twin in Penang - Gurney Park. cool ay....

about the design, why don't stack both towers up making it 90 stories. and change the blades to spires ha ha......

Hunza’s RM650mil mixed project to kick off next year
By DAVID TAN IN PENANG

HUNZA Properties Bhd will start work on its RM650mil mixed development project in Penang's well-known promenade, Gurney Drive, in mid-2006.

Group executive chairman Datuk Khor Teng Tong told StarBiz that the project would consist of two blocks of 48-storey service super-condominiums, a heritage structure to accommodate food and beverage outlets, the group’s corporate headquarters, and a one-acre festival square.

''The commercial hub of the project will have a built-up area of 1.1mil sq ft,'' he said, adding that the project was located on a 10.21-acre site.

Khor said the group would start work soon on Mutiara Seputeh, a RM200mil high-end landed residential property project in Seputeh Valley.

''Mutiara Seputeh, located on a 15-acre site, will feature 97 semi-detached and bungalow units, designed to cater to the needs of the affluent market.

Datuk Khor Teng Tong with the model unit of Alila project in Penang.

''It is a guarded community and equipped with contemporary clubhouse facilities,'' he said.

Khor said the third project, targeted for next year, would be another super-condominium project in Tanjung Bungah.

''Yet to be named, it comprises two blocks of super-condominiums with 119 units, and built-up area of more than 3,500 sq ft per unit,'' he said, adding that the layout plan had been submitted for approval.

Khor said response to Alila, the group’s on-going mixed-development residential project in Tanjung Bungah, had been very encouraging.

''Since the official launch on Sept 29, we have been getting great response from local and overseas investors, who were attracted by the unique tropical garden concept, the first of its kind in Penang.

''We expect to complete the project on schedule in the second quarter of 2007,'' he added.

Khor said the mixed-development projects in Bandar Putra Bertam and Sungai Lalang in Sungai Petani were progressing smoothly.

The 700-acre Bandar Putra Bertam in Kepala Batas is touted as the ''Mini Putrajaya'' of the north.

''The project in Sungai Lalang, comprising landed residential properties, is being carried out in phases,'' he added.

Khor said the group still had 800 acres of land bank sprawled over the northern and central regions, which should keep the group busy for the next eight years.

For the year ended June 30, the group posted net profit of RM16.4mil on RM112mil in revenue.

''Our shareholders have approved a first and final dividend of 75 sen for the financial year ended June 2005,'' he said.

The dividend is expected to be paid out in mid-January.

They better complete the outer ring road before this project is completed. The traffic around the area will come to a complete standstill if nothing is done about the traffic in that area when the project is completed.

According to that Wong Talhar report site for 2004, Penang property boom is no.1 in Malaysia above KL and Selangor, so I guess there is high demand in Penang.
