Yes other than street level leasing office and resident amenities there is no retail. This isn't an area of downtown that receives a lot of foot traffic so anything that brings more people in the area will be positive.

Other residential developments are in the works near this site, those will be announced at a later time.

Well outside of foot traffic but still close to ride a bike to where you want to be.

Nice to see some improvement and added residential.

I would expect some other uses coming down the road with a couple more like this downt there.

New bar called Park&Rec is opening soon in Downtown St. Pete. Owner is the guy who owns The Avenue and KINGS. Looking forward to seeing the success of that block now that Proper and Park&Rec are opening soon.

The Grand Bohemian was cancelled and there is a new proposal for this site called Halcyon. This project is currently doing foundation investigation and there is daily activity on site. No dirt has been turned yet though so it is not under construction yet but I would expect it to begin soon.

More info on Halcyon: http://stpeterising.com/halcyon

Thank you. I thought something might be going on, but I never personally see anything.

Not exactly "urban" but a new 69 unit townhome development was proposed near Downtown St. Pete. Located in the Kenwood neighborhood.

Was at the Hofbrahaus last night and looks like Avanti is finishing up on the last floor before topping off. That area is looking really good and love that it's filling in. Salvador also looked almost complete with just landscaping and any interior work to be done.

$85 million St. Pete Police headquarters to break ground next month
Mar 15, 2017, 2:45pm EDT
Janelle Irwin

Groundbreaking on a new St. Petersburg Police Department headquarters is slated for April 20, with actual construction beginning as early as May 1. The entire project, which includes a parking garage and offsite shooting range, will cost the city about $85 million.

The main headquarters that will be constructed on the north side of First Avenue North is designed not only to meet department needs, but also to fit in with the architectural style and design feel of the Edge District, which will help the area continue the development boom occurring over the past several years.

The existing police headquarters on the south side of First Avenue North will be demolished sometime in 2019 after operations have fully transitioned to the new facility. That will free up about 2 acres of land ripe for development. It could also be used as a possible solution for parking in the Edge District, or to complement future redevelopment plans for the Tropicana Field site.

Much potential in the HQ land. Open bidding sometime next year and have any potential developer cover the costs of demolition. Would definitely like to see something add some impact on the skyline on that side of downtown. Nothing enormous but a good 15 stories or even 20.

Spent a few days in Nashville this last week during our travels...

Tampa has a lot in common in regards to the overall size and development.

Granted, there is the whole music thing happening, the development I saw there in the core downtown as well as the nearby neighborhoods was so familiar.

Parks redeveloped, lots of newly constructed and under construction mid rise apartments...some really cool areas like 5 points reminded me of Tampa Heights...and other areas around the Tampa Bay area like St Pete...

Still prefer this climate for the long haul but really interesting to see how these two cities compare.
