Per TPA's social media channels, the SkyConnect APM vehicles are now being delivered via barge. They should arrive at Port Tampa Bay in about a month's time.

SAN!!!!

Looks like it's gonna be WN beating AS/VX to the punch. Showing on WN's route map now.

Maybe AS/VX responds a bit with SJC or SFO

With San Diego and San Fran getting service, I'm hoping to hear about a Seattle direct flight pretty soon.

We have one on AS already, unless your referring to DL adding a flight to make it 2x daily.

Next up, West Coast wise is going to be PDX or SJC or LAX x2.

I'm also surprised that It wasn't Alaska who added SAN-TPA.
On a forum about Thomas Cook, a user posted that Tampa may get a MAN flight for summer 2018.
"There will apparently be up to 3 new USA routes, with SAN/TPA/MSY being the front runners."

Looks like WK (Edelweiss) is splitting FL ops to MCO and TPA. Per Airliners OAG thread. 1x weekly to TPA and 1x Weekly to MCO.

So far just appears to be in Feb. Goes back to 2x weekly in March.

Tampa to San Jose (CA) would be a very interesting route to operate, especially you have currently no flights between the South Bay (SF Bay Area) and Tampa Bay. I wouldn't be surprised, though, to see either AS, WN, or another carrier do that service to complement the existing daily UA flight between Tampa and San Francisco.

Rumor is that both Thomas Cook and Norwegian will announce service to TPA soon.

Wow. Knew about Thomas Cook. Norwegian would be a surprise from what I have seen and heard, which has been nothing. So that would be a bit out of blue.

That would be f'ing epic though.

TPA should also be after LEVEL if Norwegian doesn't commit.

With both airlines being weekly to multi weekly flights shouldn't strain FIS or Airside F too too much, depending on schedules.

Paris has been mentioned as a possible Norwegian destination. I think some of Norwegian's FLL and MCO flights arrive in the later evening. If they did the same with TPA then they would have airside F to themselves at that time of night. I'm not too sure if TPA could support a flight on LEVEL to Spain. If they expand to other European cities then I could see them coming to TPA.

From what I've read on Airliners.net, is that NX is really focuses on FCO lately, I could see CDG, FCO and BCN, OSL.

Out of curiosity, where have you heard of NX? Inner TPA people?

I've always thought TPA stood chance over place like MSY, which NX previously said they wanted to serve with not mention of TPA.

If this does come to fruition, I would expect S. and Central America to be next announcment. BOG or Brazil or MEX is due.

I heard this from a TPA plane spotter who met some airport employees. He was also told that Lufthansa should ditch the Star Alliance livery soon and begin flying their mainline aircraft to TPA.

Wonder if it's the same person posting on A.net about LH moving to mainline soon and Thomas Cook looking at TPA. On A.net he seems pretty convincing, so that's promising for NX.

I do believe LH will move to mainline soon, the numbers alone support more or less that thoery.

I have to think next would either be Aeromexico or Avianca. Both have said they are looking to grow their US service.

Man I've been feeling a new route deep inside me, now with Thomas Cook AND Norwegian being a possibility, you're going to have me refreshing Twitter and A.net even more now.

I also feel AS PDX is coming sooner rather than later, I doubt they are too too happy WN hopped on the SAN route.

Wow these sound like cool developments. The only thing that is surprising is the decrease in passenger numbers for BA recently and WK. I believe Lufthansa is very flat, due to same frequency and generally full flights. Icelandair is coming online, is there any concern for too much supply? Should we be worried that if Thomas Cook, and possibly Norwegian add, that Edelweiss pulls the plug and BA decreases frequency?

However, I do agree that we should have more flights to central and south America. I think MEX or BOG is bound to happen at some point.
