I noticed Clearwater beach development is heavy, you would think there would be more posted hear....sort of the redhead of the forum I guess....not really exciting for millennials and young professionals as its hotels and condos for mainly out of towners...

Still exciting to see the beach transform, anyone have any updates?

The local media outlets don't do a good job of covering it and we have no one who lives out there.

Great news for sure, with all the delays from the CMA and Harborview Center, finally going to see something big happen to catapult downtown Clearwater to the next level.

The north Marina plan is well underway in the planning stages too and The Nolen will be leasing in just a few weeks. The Skyview also closing in, there will be many more residents downtown. This I hope leads to more residents including the completion of the former Strand building.

There are so many available vacant areas just ready for new residential and mixed uses down there.

Consultants present plans for downtown Clearwater revitalization

By Jamel Lanee'
Quote:
CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) – On Tuesday consultants presented the Clearwater City Council with the draft of a master plan to revitalize the city’s downtown waterfront area.

The proposal is called “Imagine Clearwater.” It includes a design for a future waterfront park. The consultants also recommended a set of projects to stimulate the downtown and looked at how different elements may fit into the overall area. The council heard the potential next steps it can take with the community to implement the plan.

With AutoLoop CEO Steve Anderson's recent $8.4 million purchase of Clearwater Tower on Garden Avenue, the 12-story high-rise will be occupied exclusively by tech firms when his company relocates there in January.

Already in the building's top two floors is cybersecurity firm KnowBe4, which grew 2,528 percent over the past three years and brought in $6.8 million in 2015.

This opens today!

The good news is, there will be 400 to 500 real local residents for the first time in the core downtown in these apartment unlike the condos in the past few years whose residents are here on occasion and don't tend to work in the core...

Can't wait to see the results of this effect over the coming months.

Not to mention, the former strand has officially been logged in the Pinellas Property Appraisers to the Chicago developer, will be looking to see some plans in the next few months.

The Skyview coming along, Tom Cruise has reportedly bout the top floors and now they are building a custom garage.

From downtown, the building is amazing.

Clearwater and Pinellas officials to consider a joint government building
Tracey McManus, Times Staff Writer
Wednesday, March 1, 2017 8:27am

CLEARWATER —The idea of merging city and Pinellas County government offices into one building has been floated for a decade.

But now that replacement options are being sorted out for both aging municipal centers located about a block apart in downtown, elected officials are considering teaming up for a single all-service center.

"If we're both in a place where we're going to have to replace our buildings, doesn't it make sense if there's a way we can collaborate and do it together so we can have a one-stop-shop government center that accommodates everybody's needs?" County Commission Chair Janet Long said. "To me that's good business practice."

Perhaps a Ulele or Anise will take interest....there is a lot in the planning stages for downtown so this is a great opportunity.

Clear Sky just opened on Cleveland Street, haven't had a chance to go but it really looks great from the pictures...very successful on the beach and Dunedin so we will be going there since its close...

Clearwater tries new option to lure businesses downtown: cash

Downtown Clearwater will start to come together sooner than later. Probably not this building cycle but definitely the next.

With the new Coachman park plan, north marina and gateway area development, downtown Clearwater will finally be worth our investment.

The city is actively doing code enforcement on the gateway, which has been long ignored...the city sees the value in that area and hopefully can recover from years of neglect.
