Being from PA, where this sort of thing is in every decent sized town, I can't f-ing wait.

They need to get a bakery and butcher in there.

Well it definitely looks better than what's there now, anyway. I'm more interested in what they're going to build around it.

On that same site I linked the new hall renderings, they had a detailed Pearl retail leasing map/rendering.

I tried going back to post it here, but it seems to be gone.

Anyways, seemed to be around 50% pre-leased with a couple resturaunts/a spa/a salon among others.

An oyster bar has joined the lineup of restaurants slated to open at The Heights next year.

SoHo Capital LLC, the developers of The Heights, said Monday that it has signed Atlantic Beer & Oyster, which will be an outdoor restaurant along the extended Tampa Riverwalk. The Heights is a mixed-use development planned for 43 vacant acres on the Hillsborough River, overlooking downtown Tampa.

Looks like vertical construction is finally starting.

In addition, I drove by the site last week and it is astounding how much dirt is being brought in. I read they are putting 18" of fill in to bring the site to grade with Palm Ave.

First phase of The Heights near downtown Tampa takes crucial step forward

Tampa Bay Business Journal

Developers of an $820 million mixed-use development on the Tampa Heights waterfront have secured a construction loan for a portion of the project's first phase.

Corporate entities tied to SoHo Capital, the firm behind the 43-acre development known as The Heights, secured a $60.8 million construction loan from Tampa-based, Ginnie Mae-backed First Housing on Thursday, according to Hillsborough County property records.
Quote:
Adam Harden, a partner in SoHo Capital, confirmed the loan's closing Thursday afternoon and said construction on The Pearl would begin Friday.

^I know. Foundation work has been underway for weeks. Pretty sure this means they had to put up extra equity for the loan.

My friend Lee bought a great house close to Tampa Heights probably 8 years ago. I think he is so ahead of the times. He also had properties off South Macdill Soho and Gandy at Bayshore.
